James the jacketed headers are built by Lightning, can get'em polished or any color in powder coat, THEY ARE NOT CHEAP!!!. But well worth the money. Around 2k. The inducer will help load the pump but with out sufficient horse power it will hurt the performance of your boat. What is enough HP you say? every application is different but  rule of thumb is around 600HP. Hope this helps. or not. :smile17:

WFLC!!!

carp shoulda said the other day at the pool  neverenuff has a decent set of 460 Basset twisty thru transom headers with all the lines and stuff CHEAP and they'll fit under the hood !
I did not know Basset made a set that can be run under the hatch???? :smile26:

How much gas was in the tank when James hit 62?

The tank was full, it's always full when I hit the water, maybe two gallons down from 25. There was a dude at Plowmans with a white deep V, open bow, with windshield, jet boat, had to be heavier than mine, and he hit 72 on GPS. It CAN be done. For the food, P90X is part of my boat's weight reduction plan.. LOL

Neverenuf, how much for the headers? Would love a set of Basset thru transom headers.

I've seen these headers on old blogs at Performance Boats and on Scream and Fly, but nothing recent, like within the last two years. They are about as easy to find as 351C logs to put on an LSX motor...

I don't think they do.... All the Bassett thru-transom headers I've ever seen were just water injected, not water jacketed like the Lightnings...

Injected headers in a closed engine compartment is a definite no-no.... :smile20:

I just checked Basset's site. They do have a new product, water jacketed stainless steel thru hull header for under the hatch for $2300.
Water injected is a no no for under the hatch...

Here's the Basset thru transom headers.. $1,089 new, but you're right, water injected, NOT jacketed

To me that seems to be a better initial investment if he plans on keeping the boat.  Seems like he is going to spend that plus some on the engine work and will still have a bottle neck at the exhaust.

EDIT:  I could be stuck in car mode.  Is the difference in boat logs VS headers as drastic as car manifolds VS headers?

Ya, same here man!  :smile29:

Got the DVD's, got the pull up bar, got a bands. I start the Monday after Thanksgiving.
HUH???? :smile24:

He's doing the P90X workout program to loose weight so he can hit the 70MPH mark more easily.

James, when you're done and I get my carb issues worked out, we will still have to run but you can't push any laughing gas buttons!

Then I know I will have one bottle neck and not six when it's done. The intake, the heads, the cam, the bottom end and the pump will have no bottle necks.

EDIT: There's a package on the table.. Super Cobra Jet intake gaskets.... hmmmm

Once the carb and intake issues are worked out, then I'll find some jacketed headers......for under the hood of course.

I need a scoop too!
