have you stuck you foot in the hydro yet eddie? how'd that steering do?

No, I've just had it out the one time for the initial checkout.

It steers good!

I did go full throttle for two-three seconds, and it was the best gee I've had since my last ride in a racer!! :smile19:

I'm partway through getting the (illegal) zoomies replaced with water injected Bassett collectors.

How much are these collector mufflers quiet it down? Have you got a chance to fire it up and see what you think?

man fourfather that is a great looking rig,i wish mine looked that good, about how much do the mufflers cost  and how much do they quiet it down, when we take the kids out in lucille they say its too loud

I haven't quite finished the install yet. I have the headers on, but haven't finished the water injection plumbing. So I haven't fired it up yet. Seems like  the mufflers were ~$550 or so for the pair- I'd have to find the invoice to be sure, but that's close.

I'm kinda hung up trying to figure a way to keep from scratching the outside of the header collector, where the mufflers clamp on the outside. So it won't look bad if I wind up taking the muffs off. It's a pretty precision fit, with not much room between the outside of the collector and the inside of the muffler.

I've never heard a set of these mufflers run, but it looks like they would be pretty good for holding down the noise and not hurting the power too much.

More later-

Eddie

Thanks please keep us posted on how much they quiet it down I'm fighting a noise law up here too.

What about making/buying a sleeve to slide inside the header and lock in like the traditional baffles and then clamp your new mufflers to that?

thats a good idea,i like the idea of sliding a piece of pipe inside the header and most all headers have the bolt hole already that could be used.if ya'll try that let me know how it works

Someone asked me in a PM how the dual rudder setup was braced inside the boat, 'cause he is thinking of going dual. In case anyone else is interested, here are some pix I took for him.

Well, I guess--- but to me the collectors just don't look as good. :undecided:

Eddie,

Have you consudered just putting baffles in the Zoomies? A google Search of Zoomie Baffles will bring up a bunch of choices. We run a set on a Blown 426 in a T-bucket, and all we used were appropriately sixed motorcycle baffles cut in half (You ought to have some of these floating around somewhere!) .

Not near as much playing as I'd like-- mostly been moving to our new home/shop/warehouse. And I'm old and have never thrown anything away, so I've got lots of "stuff" to move!

Hi, Y'all

I've been away from the forum for a long time now! I've been playing with my cars, and mostly moving into our new Dream shop/garage, with living quarters attached. What a job moving is!! Still not squared away after the move.

Still haven't had the Deaver Hydro out this year, but do have a new set of Bassett water injected headers mounted- but not plumbed yet.

Moderator, may I put my Chopper for sale ad here?

FourFather Eddie Hill's Personal Captain America Chopper

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOR SALE

I thought I would keep this bike forever; but I have been blessed with so
many toys that I don't have time to devote to all of them. This bike is too
nice to be sitting. Somebody needs to be enjoying it.

I had the bike built to my exact specs and colors. I had wanted a Captain
America chopper ever since I saw Easy Rider. To me, it looks better
than Peter Fonda's, but with all the modern components and engine.

I had my Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles motorcycle dealership name painted on the
rear fender to use it as an advertising tool.

The bike has been used primarily in parades, shows, special events, and TV
commercials. It was the centerpiece of our local Tea Party on April 15th.
Last year the late Lloyd Ruby and I rode side-by-side to lead a parade here
in Wichita Falls. Of course, I had to ride it around town on other
occasions to show it off to my business associates and friends, but I've put
only 983 miles on it. I don't recall ever riding it past the city limits.
Someone with more time to exercise the bike needs to have it.

The bike lives in my air-conditioned office at our dealership. The only
time it's outside is when I'm riding it or showing it.

I've been blessed with a lot of exceptionally nice cars, boats, and bikes in
my life; but I don't think anything I've ever had (on the street) generated more attention,
smiles, nods, thumbs up, or photographs than this beautiful Captain America
chopper.

The bike was constructed on the West Coast by Vicious Cycles in Bakersfield,
California. We were so impressed with the quality and appearance of these
choppers that we became their franchised dealer for the Texas-Oklahoma area.

I ordered this one with high-end specs to demonstrate what was possible and
to help spread the word that we are selling this type of bike, along with
Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Polaris brands, among others.

The bike has never been raced, dropped, scratched, or damaged in any way. I
have ridden the bike very gently, and it is as mechanically and cosmetically
perfect as it was when we received it. It's really hard to tell the bike
has been ridden at all.

Specs are as follows:

2005 Vicious Villian Chopper

Harley Davidson 95 inch factory twin cam engine w/ diamond cut cylinder
fins (the edges of the fins sparkle like diamonds!)

Hogbreath intake with big Mikuni carburetor

Six-speed transmission with excellent shifting

Fabrication, assembly, and paint by Vicious Cycle

Kraft Tech frame- 1 3/8 diameter tubing

Sway Away shocks (looks like a hardtail )

Thunder Heart electrical

Wilwood Brakes

Street Sweeper Exhaust- It is loud, but oh, what a sweet sound!!
120/70 x 21 Metzler ME 88 Front tire
240/40 x 18 Metzler ME 88 Rear tire

The bike looks like a hardtail, but it has concealed rear suspension and is
actually the best riding and handling chopper I've ever ridden.

Since we are the franchised dealer for this line of motorcycles, it has not
been registered, and you will be the first registered owner. Retail price on mine is $34,000, and I'm offering it now for $19,980.

We would entertain the possibility of a trade-in of a motorcycle, ATV or
Side by Side utility vehicle, or anything else that we could sell in our
motorcycle store. We would also discuss the possibility of financing the sale ourselves.

I'm pretty much full-time playing now and not at the dealership very often,
but you can call our Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles store at (940)-322-4121 and
speak to Roger Fowler, Monty Long, or Trey Sralla and
they can answer your questions.

hey eddie did ya ever sell the tunnel v-drive?

Yes, I did. Quite a while ago. The 540 BBC that I had in the SleekCraft is now in my Hondo Runnerbottom. It sure pulls the light runnerbottom a lot quicker and faster  than it did the SleekCraft tunnel- but that's to be expected (several hundred pounds lighter and less drag) :smile20:

Howdy, Eddie! I'll copy this and post in vehicles for sale as well. How are ya?

Hi, Duane!

That'll be great ! Thanks!

Since you are known to have accepted a boat ride with a VERY OLD! boat pilot, and a known crasher at that, and in a fairly high-performance runnerbottom to boot---I'm wondering if you might be a candidate for the SUCKER! seat in a certain Blown Gas Deaver Hydro Playboat? :smile12:
