Epoxy resin does not kick off the same way polyester.  The pot life is much shorter than the working time with epoxy.  If you leave a fair amount in the pot you will feel the heat.  It's also fairly cool out right now.  That makes a big difference in the time it takes to kick off.  Looks like good progress.

Here's where I got my epoxy resin.  Half the price of West System.  Ships fast and they have all the other stuff you need also.  Epoxy wets cloth a lot better than polyester, and bonds better to cured polyester.  http://www.aeromarineproducts.com/

Hmm got quoted 600$ to soda blast the bottom of the boat.. I'm thinking about it just to skip a step in my project... What y'all think?

From what I understand the person doing the blasting has to really know what they are doing , or you will have alot more work to fix the problems created by blasting . There are also different kinds of media for blasting , and only certain kinds are okay to use on a boat . I would just sand it with a DA if I were you . If there is alot of paint to be taken off you can use a heavier grit paper , I used 80 to strip mine . After the boat is mostly stripped you can go up to a finer sand paper to make sure you don't leave any deep scratches that will be  a problem later .

Well i was just thinking i could get it all done in one day then just prime the bottom and not spend the next 4 weeks sanding the bottom.

Do what  I told you and you will be done with the bottom in a day . If you blast it you will still have to sand the bottom and probably smooth areas that are not smooth from where you blasted it .

Strip it with the orbital and 80 grit , then finish with the DA . The orbital will not go as fast as the DA though .I would spend some of the money you were going to pay to get it blasted and buy yourself a nice used compressor from a pawn shop or craigslist .

well we have a few, was thinking about hooking up one of our gas ones to the one at our shop. I imagine those two would keep up pretty easly
