Fellas I need ideas on how to get the bottom of hull scribed on the stringer so can make the perfect angle and cut. I am thinking using a piece of 1x4 and cutting to length, then making a one inch piece of wood drilling a hole in it to place a pen thru. However this will give me the bottom but not the angle, so stringers are vertical? Ideas???? Please..

Well I normally grind and remove two sides of glass when removing stringers.  Remove the top and inside glassed area.  This would leave the bottom and one side to assure proper alignment.  In your case, it's too late to do that, so proper placement will be measure, check, measure and glass.  Good luck!

Any kind of a scribe will work just fine? And long as you have the bottom of the boat nice and smooth... Just use a 1x6 or some scrap wood and mock it up into place of where the stringer will be mounted making sure it can't move? Then use any kind of pencil compass to trace the bottom of the boat onto the board... Making sure you keep the compass at the same angle all the way across the boat and it will give you a perfect scribe line... Then you can trim the 1x6 to the line and test fit and make any adjustments needed for a perfect fit and then use the 1x6 for the template to cut your stringers...
