Shorten them? Can you modify the tanks yourself or do you have someone to do it for you?

When you shorten them, you may change the center of gravity of your boat. This might lead to porpoising.

If they don't interfere with the seats, I would run them. They look like two 20 gallon daycruiser tanks. Man you would have fuel for days! :smile17:

They will interfere with the back seats a little but I am sure I could modify pretty easily. I would have to find someone to do the modification for me.

If they are easily modified, I don't see why not. You just tryin to get away from a bow tank I guess? Whatcha gonna do about the fillers, gonna run them out the side or just have them under the hatch...

This thing came with one tank on the passenger side of boat next to motor, I still have that tank, just thought these tanks would disperse weight evenly.
the fuel fills could just go straight up,

I run on one tank at a time on my Hawaiian, and don't really ever notice it listing. But it lists with me in it! :smile23:

I mainly meant just for having the tanks the same. Would you put 2 different size/style tanks in your boat? eh, don't answer that...

So there is 3 options:
1- use original tank
2- use these tanks and modify backseat to make fit
3- use big tanks, and modify tanks size

welll, I guess it comes down to what is more cost effective & possibly faster to get done? With you doing all the wood work on the boat yourself, modifying the back seat probably not too big a deal & can be done yourself.

I would probably leave the tanks as they are. It may be difficult to find someone to modify them. You can always build a seat frame that will fit around them. I wouldn't be too worried about the CG of the boat.

There is always that option as well. The bow tanks work at any rate. :smile16: I try and keep my chit simple, or it will never get done!

yessir, my thinking as well. Taylor SJs had saddle tanks towards the back so shouldn't be a big deal. Depending on how much they hold, may make a difference how it rides whether they are full or not, but no real way to know that till its done.
