HASS is the guy that was at Tawakoni with the really fast twin turbo boat.
No way a junk yard 5.3 is going after that motor. I should go after that guy with the skull head on his scoop. Anyone know that dude?? LOL
Even a small car with a turbo has the luxury of air moving freely from under the car. A boat has NONE. I am completely limited to the bilge vents for all ventilation, and no, I'm not making more holes in my classic hull. Of the few turbo boats I've seen out there I have never seen one with an engine cover. Seen a few blowers under the hood though. Cliff probably remembers that dude at Rockwall last summer with the big block lake cruiser that had a supercharged 505 and a wicked A$$ stereo system. His engine bay was the width of the boat. More room for air to move.
While heat wrap will reduce the heat that escapes it will not eliminate it and the under hood temps will get damn hot. My engine compartment has side walls that are about 2 inches from the manifolds, plus maybe 10" in front and a foot and a half behind the motor. On top, my cover hit the air cleaner with a nitrous plate on it. I don't need a 1,000hp day cruiser. 500 would be cool, and a centrifugal charger can easily achieve that, plus be very dependale and driveable and heat will never be an issue.
Insert foot here.... >>>>>>
I should tape a scoop onto my engine cover then and paint a skull head on it. I don't want KONA to pull on my small block.
Coulda said Cliff, but that wouldn't be fair seeing how his 35hp Whaler can outrun his jet boat. LOL jump.gif
