This one seems to be about right according to the nice people who want to sell it to me  think.gif
Someone on the LS forums suggested  this size , but didn't mention brands . I have seen a few projects where these were the ones used . Anyone here know anything about them ?

Not as much progress as I hoped today . I did get a few little things taken care of and finished the water pump block off plates , but didnt get the primer sprayed . Hopefully I will make more progress tomarrow .

Would it be worth it to consider adding a brace from the rear mount to the stringer on both sides to help with the torque from the motor ? I still plan to use the three point rear mount and a front plate .

Now that turbo is built for the job.

Finally tracked down Tom over on the other forum . Sounds like there may be a better option for the turbo , for money spent vs power gained .

Boat is primed and ready to start the real fun . Now I get to start fixing all the little things that show up with a good block sanding . From the looks of it , there are plenty of little things to keep me busy for the next little while .

Thanks , it does feel good to see some progress made on it . I still have a ways to go on getting it straight enough to shoot the paint , but I am happy to at least have made it this far . Spring will be here before we know it . Hopefully I can start getting some problem areas taken care of tomarrow . We have our Christmas dinner for our employees this evening , so I am done for the day .

So , how much should I grind out of the bad areas to get a decent repair with new filler ? I also have areas in the filler where the hull was capped ,there are lots of tiny pin holes in it .

I have been doing alot of reading on the turbo setup , and have really learned alot about them . The biggest thing I have learned is that I have alot more to learn before I will be ready to setup a decent turbo motor . I am thinking for right now I will focus on getting the motor in the boat and getting everything right with it , then start getting the turbo stuff together . I do have a bid on a turbo that should be perfect for the motor , so hopefully I will have a good head start on getting the parts all together before the boat is ever finished and in the water .

There is no quick answer to that question because there are so many variables that need to be discussed first. I will be in the booth spraying all day today, but I would be happy to try to help you come up with a plan of attack for your boat if you want to call me tomorrow or later this afternoon.  David 512-423-7889.

I like the way you are thinking.  One step at a time.

Yeah , the programming for the turbo setup is pretty touchy stuff , alot more complicated than just doing a carb deal . I think I might do well to get the system up and running and get a little bit of practice with the program before putting a turbo into the mix . With a carb you can actually just put in a pill and run , but the guys with this system that have turbos have been telling me that you really need to get the program exactly right for a turbo setup or you will fry the motor really quick .

I got a little bit of block sanding done today , its looking pretty good so far . There are several places that I am going to have to do some filler work , but overall I think the boat is looking good .

X2, work on getting your motor mounts, exhaust, electronics and all that stuff working correctly first. Once it throws a couple shakedown roosts you can get going on some upgrades. That's what I'll be doing. Already have in my mind a centrifugal blower will be the way to go under an engine cover.

Bolt on 100 horsepower without generating a ton of heat.
