I skipped out on mowing the grass for long enough to go meet Henry down at the river to get gauges for the boat.  Thanks Henry! Mattie got to do a little fishing and I was still home in time to mow about half of the yard, guess I will do the rest tomorrow.

You welcome.  Glad to put a face with the name.  Hope they will work for you.

I got to looking at the gauges that I got from Henry for the boat and I am fairly sure that I will have to buy a set of gauges . The tach that I got from him is for an outboard motor , not a V8 . Someone posted a link for some really nice retro looking gauges awhile back , not sure where it was posted though . I guess I will have to start digging around and see if I can find the old post . If anyone remembers where they were post please post a link .

I will take a look , didn't notice a dial with a 6 or an 8  think.gif There is some kind of adjustment on the back , but I figured it was just to calibrate it.  crazy.gif

Finally have a few hours to spend with the boat this afternoon . I have a few areas where I am not really happy with how well I sanded and buffed the boat that I am going back over . I broke down and bought the 3M hookit pad and a new DA sander to wet sand with , the best money I have spent in awhile . I am going to resand a few areas that were not to my liking and rebuff the entire boat and call it good for the summer . I planned to take it to a friends paint booth and spray a final coat of clear on it and then finish it out , but summer is here already and I want to go boating . I will probably wet sand it and put a few more coats of clear on it over the winter , but it looks great already and I don't want to wait any longer to put it together .

Mine came off the trailer pretty easy . We hung theback of the boat from the rafters with ratchet straps and pretty much pulled the trailer out from under it and slid the cart under the boat as the trailer moved out from under the boat .

I was thinking of using a couple of rachet straps to get mine off the trailer just so I can paint it to match the boat since it's inside. You could hang a truck from the rafters in my shop.

I am planning to hang the boat with three straps to put the trailer under it . One in the front on the bow eye , and two in the back . :smile30:

I did two in the front  and a jack under the rear but my rear eyes wouldn't have held if I used them because of the rotten transom.

Thinking about it you could use one heavy duty one or a web sling with a sliding clasp in the middle in the front so it will self level in the middle of the strap and equalize the weight.
