It only gets towed by a Glastron full of hot women, so I'm not sure where you fit into the equation, but those are the requirements! think.gif :smile20:

Trying to get my project thread back on course, I will now update the latest chain of events.

Freegin Parts!!  3 trips to NAPA for the right part, finally the proper gaskets arrived today.  The Ford Dealer only part came in this morning, only it was the wrong part.  The right part should be in tomorrow.

The heads (suppose to be ready two weeks ago) still aren't ready, but should be ready tomorrow afternoon.  The new valves did not come in, of course they were ordered Saturday.

After I eat Lunch, I'll straighten up the shop, organize all my parts, and prepare to assemble as much as I can.  I hope to have the motor in the boat by Thursday, so I can tow it over to his shop for the final tune.

Finally Parts arrived and Heads were finished.  Well not really!  The heads I had in the machine shop, turns out to be set of 110 cc low compression super rare heads, that will not work for my application.  SOOO I end up buying a a new pair of heads, pre approved by Patch.  Anyway, I had a good night last night, and hopefully will make a run to the Hardware store for some odds and ends and slip the motor into the boat today!  Then meet up with Patch this evening to wrap everything up.

Wish me luck, I need it.

Its not the same style head bolt, it is suppose to have a washer under it.  I'm looking for the missing head bolt as I collect the final parts to finish the build.

Now for the bad news, talked to Patch this morning and discovered the rod that drives the oil pump is suppose to go in from the underside when you bolt up the oil pump.  The clip is to keep the rod in the pump if you ever have to pull the distributor.  SOOOOO I'm going to pull the pan and reinstall the oil pimp.  Slight set back, but a huge learning tool for me.  If I screw up the gasket, the new one will be here at 3:00.

Meanwhile I will soak the lifters and install the lifters, push rods and rockers.  I have traded the Chevy Dart intake for an Offenhauser for the Ford and will pick it up Saturday.

Thanks to James, we discover my motor was assembled without the oil pump rid installed too. Luckily we found the problem, remove the oil pan and installed the oil pump shaft properly.

Good catch !!

Motor is in the boat and all systems are hooked up, electrical, fuel and water lines.  I'm soaking the lifters, and will pick up the new intake Saturday, then should be installing the lifters, push rods and rockers, snug down the new intake and take it to Patch for tuning on Monday.

Ther's light at the end of the tunnel, and maybe this time it's not a train. jump.gif jump.gif jump.gif

Motor is in, and running, sounds great.  Problem is the motor starts to overheat at idle.  Pulling the pump on Monday to check for problems.  Shooting for next weekend, wish me luck.

The mechanic did at the pond they have to run in the boats they build.  No leaks, all gauges work, no milky oil, just gets hot at an idle.  Worked fine (ran cool) all during the cam breakin, but when he was finally able to let it idle, it started running hot (from 180 to 210)
