The 'U can do 3D' will fly pretty wild.  Kevin (a friend of mine that flies with me quite a bit) had one for a little while.  It can be a handful but then again, he had the rates set on KILL.  lol.  Nice flying plane for sure.  A super sportster would be a good second plane too.  Even a P51..................  :smile23:

Paging Roger.... Roger, to the white courtesy phone please....

This was the last plane i bought! Kinda nerve rackin with an OS 61 lol but it was very stable at low speeds and easy to land, still got it too! Flew like a rocket on a string line.

looks like a Tiger 2  ............ I had one of those as first low wing and was a great plane ! granted the gear setup didn't like rough ground but in the air it was real nice  I adjusted ailerons for max throw on hi rate and upped the rudder area a little bit and it would do knife edge and rolling circles

I'm thinking about getting another plane. I want something like a Cub with big tires and lots of power. I think some short field action would be a blast!

Kadet Sr with AXI 4120 - with a 14x7 it has about a 5' take off roll and with a 16x4 it has true vertical capability. With a pair of 4s 5000mAh batteries, I have a flight time of 30-45 minutes....but, if you get it up and just let it sailplane, I've had a flight as long as 1.5 hrs. I have recently started using a computer radio, and am now using flaperons - I can now take off on most R/C club helipads.

Great fun, and definitely a sleeper. Has better slow flight characteristics than a Cub.

I have an Ugly Stik with the same setup - it has a take off roll of under 20'.

Now your talking!

The look on people's faces when a dopey high wing "trainer" with a 78" span takes off out of someone's hands vertical is absolutely priceless!

By the way, for anyone who is not familiar with AXI's motors - they are very seriously under-rated!

So you like the electric over nitro?

Yes, by far. Initial cost is higher b/c of battery price. But, truerc.com has GREAT deals on batteries. He builds the batteries and I have had very good results with them (I've been using them for about 3-4 years now). But, it's really nice to show up with charged batteries, plug them in and go fly. When I'm done, just put them on the charger and that's it. No cleanup, no tweaking carbs, zero time getting it started, no smell (big deal, because I am a travelling worker...so stinking up an RV is no good), and...I can shut the motor off to sailplane and then just fire it back up whenever I want.

In my Kadet/Ugly Stik they fly with about $160 worth of batteries, $80 worth of motor (I buy them used), and $80 worth of ESC. Ground support equipment is a $120 charger. I can show up at a field and be in the air in under 5 minutes...and when I land I can be gone in under 5 minutes.

In my smaller Ugly Stik I fly with $40 worth of batteries, $40 worth of motor, and $40 worth of ESC; ground support equipment is the same $120 charger.

...and I don't have to figure out where to buy fuel when I move every 3-9 months.

Granted, there is a cut-off point where electric is just not really cost effective - like the double AXI and $250 worth of batteries for the 33% stuff; but for my stuff...it's the best option.

It showed up...... :smile15:

a lil' broken.....elevator ripped out of stab, and fuse cracked, but fixable.
It did come complete with servos, rx, and futaba TX.

Let's just say I'm not sending the guy any more cash.... :smile13:

He threw it in a 2 piece box with no real packing, and it came apart....

Dude had a 18 x 10 prop on it!!! :smile26:

Yes, that prop is 18" long...

well, I finished the repairs on the plane...took me all day yesterday, but it's all good now. Guy must've kept the plane indoors, and was a smoker...cleaned 6 rags worth of yellow/brown tar off of it. Damn servos don't match, looks like he just tossed em on there for the sale. Recommended servos are $99 each x 5 :smile26:  crazy.gif
