John how deep is the water in the coves at Yegua?  I guess I need to get my fishing boat going so I can check the depths in places.

So far I've towed in 3 GM's with my trusty Ford...... Just offerin' up a friendly rescue service to my fellow GM powered hot boaters..

Oh ya, I have plenty of tow rope too. Just sayin'.....

Sure hope my Chevy  does not break down .. I would hate to get pulled in by a FORD .. I don't have to wory .. I am sure JJ would pull me back to the ramp , he runs a Chevy and it a V-drive also .. So I could live with that ..

Haha. I hear ya.

At the end of last season in November, James left his bilge pump on for a few hours on his Ford powered Glastron. Well instead of letting me tow him in, he got in that cold water and swam it to the ramp.

Billy, just so you know......I'm here to get you back to the ramp if need be. Lol

Hell if I am not to far to the ramp . I will just put it in gear and use the starter to push me to the ramp ..It does work , just not very fast .. LOL

Thanks Cliff for the offer . Sure hope I do not need it .. But you never know when something will break ..

Hell I ran it a mile with no oil pressure before and no damage .. Even when I knocked out three rod bearings and the piston was hitting the head . I still drove it to the ramp .. It sounded pretty bad , but we made it to the trailer ..

Cornbread pulled me in one year when a toggle switch went out and I had no power..
Stupid little stuff that break is what pisses you off the most..

at the beach at yegua which isnt really a cove, rignt now i can beach my boat and at the stern be in standing is 4 1/2 to 5ft of water, one or two more steps your floating, the creek channel runs real close to that part of the lake and it is prolly 20ft deep there

welch park is out the boat ramp is unusable, beach at rocky is nice will probably have it there, if it isn't closed by then

pray for rain other wise will turn in a ghostrider sanctioned show and shine beer fest

i heard from drumzilla this evening who was on somerville today, he was told that if somerville doesnt get any rain in the next two weeks that they are gonna close the lake down for safety because on the depth, seems people are hitting all kinds of stuff over there.

I was told if it goes down two more feet then they might shut it down.. but I wasn't told that by any lake officials just a few locals that work at the park so we will see..everyone needs to do a rain dance... jump.gif

Also, I have a question. If they do close the lake anyone have any ideals ?? maybe a backup plan ?
                                                                                                                                            .... think.gif

If they close the lake I'm goin to Altair, I can hang down there, I have no plans of hurting my sled or getting hurt running dangerous water.

Where's Altair and is there camping?
Camping is on a big sand bar, Altair is just outside Eagle lake on the Colorado River. there is LARGE paved/picnic area under the Bridge at the ramp, I have seen groups camped there but have never camped there myself. Drumzilla posted picks pic's at the sand bar, but no pic's under bridge at ramp, Somebody on here might have some.

Keep us updated on the water at Somerville .. Right now sound like I will be backing out of coming . Not going to make a trip down and take a chance to hurt the boat in low water ..

Keep us updated Please .. I talked to JJ and he will not make it unless you guys get some rain there ..

Hopefully you guys will get some rain and we will still be able to make it ..
