I bought the cheapy electric Rustler just to get the motor and tranny out of, gonna put it on my good gas Rustler frame .... or I could just use all the good A arms and tie rods on the electric but I think all that alum. gas stuff might be lighter than the plastic either way looks like all the upgraded stuff I've got from back in the day will still work always liked that about traxxas they didn't change a whole lot of design stuff from model to model like Losi

So you get some aluminum a-arms and spindles and you can jump the crap out of those trucks with no problems? That's what broke on the throw-away trucks from Fry's, the A-arms.

As Matt has pointed out to me, once you upgrade a part to aluminum, well you're next weak link is what it's attached to. When it breaks, you'll upgrade to a better part and then the part IT attaches to becomes the weaker link.

My thinking is this, sometimes it's just easier (and cheaper) to keep replacing the original weak link than to buy a more expensive part only to have that new part break something else that isn't as cheap as the first weak link that broke.

Then again, new plastic a arms are 8 bucks... cheap and easy fix when they break.

Exactly.  I've already been down that aluminum path.  Much cheaper to just leave the weak link where it is and keep a couple of spares in your tool box.  Especially if it is an  easy part to replace like a steering knuckle.  I do however have the RPM unbreakable A-Arms on my 2.5 T-Maxx though.  They have been a pretty good upgrade without causing deeper breakage issues.

Pheasant's look great.  I have one in a standing mount.  Where do you hunt?  We used to go to Vigo Park in the TX pan handle every year.  The owner of the land got cancer and has not been well.  I miss that hunt.  It was always a great time.  Damn cold too.

Who ever done the work on these birds did a wonderfull job as they still look good after all these years. As for me I'm more of a deer hunter and an ice chest fisherman LOL there is always a good mess in the ice chest. :smile17:

Very cool.  They look great.  I don't have the patience to deer hunt. Pheasant hunting you can make all the noise you want.  You don't have to be out there at the A$$ crack of dawn either. LOL.

At 57 I think my next deer stand will be heated and mobil, GM makes a real nice one with power windows and a rifel rest LOL
