Thats why I think they are probably not such a pain to swap out impellers.

With the right puller, an air impact and a spare gasket, an impeller change should be easy.

The diverter doesn't care about the split bowl. I have a diverter on a one piece bowl. It's added to the back of the nozzle I think.

Exactly.  The diverter actually replaces the nozzle.  It adds another joint to give you adjustments on both X and Y axis instead of just X

Doesn't the diverter bolt on to the nozzle flange on a split bowl? It would at least be easier. I think the diverter off Matts big boat would bolt right on to a Berkeley split bowl. I know you can buy the entire nozzle with the diverter in it though. I have seen that on someones boat at Lavon.

Might be a fun little March project. Make 1/4 runs with a B, A, and AA impellers back to back.... Once my screamin motor is in it.

No.  You pull the steering pivot pin remove the original nozzle and replace it with the diverter nozzle.  The Y axis is behind the original X axis for steering.  The X axis stays the same diverter or no diverter.

Yes mine would bolt directly on to a split bowl Berkeley pump if you decided to separate it there.  That is several bolts instead of 2 pins for the steering joint though.  Less work to pull the pin.

Go look closely at these pictures.  It will make more sense.

anyway that pic is an F pump  and I'd really like to move the engine forward about 5 inches to get the weight right  shows the diverter and stuff good too

My diverter is connected to the steering part of the nozzle adding yet another nozzle that goes up and down.

That Facebook pic is an E pump one piece bowl just like mine.

EDIT, It's not an E pump, the steeing is on the wrong side. A G pump with an E pump bowl??

Hey Brent, It may be a little easier to see in this picture.  You can see the extra pivot right below the reverse bucket pivot.  The steering pivot is 90* from there and right by the floor.

Looking in my Seloc manual, correct. It's a JF.

My kids say the tail hurts when it nails them with a direct hit on the tube, BUT putting them to one side or the other, raising the diverter all the way, then passing them under the spray is a kick in the tail.... or through the tail.
