I got up early this morning and went to go work on the boat.  I got to the shop and was just not feeling like messing with it today, so I took the morning off and went to breakfast with a friend.  I will do a little more work on the boat this afternoon and tomarrow I will put it outside and wash it before taping it up to paint. I really wanted to paint today, but I lost too much time in the last few days to be able to get it ready to spray today.  Being a day behind where I really wanted to be really screwed up my attitude this morning, so taking a break was probably the best thing to do.

You need to post clickable thumbs.  Those pics are too small to see.

I'll try to figure out how to make them clickable.  I post them the only way I know how,  but I will try to play with it some.

The actual bubble part of the bubble deck is going to be blue , and the rest of the deck will eventually be wood grain . The dash of the boat will also be wood grain , and on the sides of the gunnels it will transition into blue . Hopefully I will be spraying the blue in a hour or two . Then it will get mid clear on the whole boat until after the wood grain is finished , then it will be cleared .

I talked to a few people ans was told to go ahead and clear the part that we are going to do the wood grain on , so it's in clear . Looks pretty good for a rookie  :smile30:

Yeah, I think the boat would look great with just the champagne and blue,  but I think the wood deck is going to be even better. I did almost talk myself into leaving it like it is though.

Thanks,  but I am sure the pro painters could tell you 10,000 things I did wrong.  I am proud of it so far though.  I can't wait to see it finished  jump.gif jump.gif

actually you did very well with it, im not sure if anybody told you this but that color and any other pewter or light grain metallic silver is hard to lay out for a biginner, for future reference, for your last coat, up your air pressure a little and increase the distance between the tip of your gun and the panel, it lets the metallic lay down on the boat evenly. but it looks really nice for a first time sprayer and its going to be something to be proud of because you did it yourself.
clearing it before doing the wood grain is a good idea, especially if he plans to do the sanding technique, that way it will not break through the color.you are gonna have fun doing the wood grain, i was thinking of doing brushed aluminum which is basically the same technique as the wood grain.

I think what we are going to do or the wood grain is to spray the color over the gold and drag it by hand . I have never done it before , but that is what it sounds like to me . Robert is not really able to do it himself anymore because of a motorcycle accident that almost killed him , but he is going to watch me and guide me through doing it myself . We are setting up a test panel to be able to see what the process will look like before doing it on the boat . I will post pics and share as much information as I can when we start doing the woodgrain .
