Trailer is back from the paint booth, replaced all rusted square tubing, new fenders, rewired and installed LED lights.
When I get back, I'll recarpet the wood that the boat rest on, cut new side panels for the new fenders and recarpet them.

Pulled all four hubs and repacked the wheel bearings.  Took a wire brush to the wheels and they came out pretty good, probably going to keep them and just buy a couple of tires.

Most of the Glass work is done: I will cut and glass the bulkhead in, hopefully before I have to go back to work, then stab the Ford.

These are the pictures of the repair.

No thanks I'll keep the plate for support.

is it there in place of a transom adapter? i would have to agree with soldier, the way pumps are mounted you have more stress on the floor than the transom.id pull the plate to save weight and make it look like it wasnt assembled at home depot :D

First Let me clear something up.  This is no light lay-up hull.  Trust me, this thing weighs 1,000,000 pounds.  Well maybe not a million, but close.  Removing an 1/8 inch thick aluminum plate would probably reduse that million to 999,999.7.  The effort (work involved) does not justify the weight reduction.  Soooo, I'm not removing the plate. Remember I'm a pilot, I'm more afraid of work than I am of death.

Second, I am not going to paint the boat, I'm not set up to paint and all the repair work is on the bottom and ahead of the bulkhead.

Third, as soon as I get the hull repaired and a motor put in it I am selling it as a good lake cruiser, not a race boat.

Fourth, My next project is setting in storage and will surprise a lot of you.

Now here are the pictures of the repairs finished, sorry about the quality of the photographs.

Patch has the answer to the motor and when it's going to be ready, I await his reply.
.And I don't think I will be ready by Wednesday for the motor.  Thanks for volunteering.

Blenderman warned me of these early Liberators cracking along bulkhead.  I've been on the phone with Jerry Wriedt, my old boss and buddy from the 70's, and he talked me through the repair.  When it's finished it will be repaired correctlly, and will not give the new owner any problems in the future.

I may let the same guy that painted my trailer to paint the bottom.  His kid just totaled out his truck (texting) and he needs the money.

This morning stripped the old carpet off the trailer bunks.  Sanded the old glue and staples off, then filled in the holes left from the old lag screws.  While that dries I'll try to find my staple gun and should have the new carpet on by this evening.  Might even cut my side panels for the trailer and carpet them.

Oh yeah, I got the carpet from Home Depot in Conroe, not all of them stock it.  You have to find one around a lake or near the water. Anyway the carpet comes in a 6 foot wide roll, and you tell them how many feet you want.  I had to get 12 1/2 feet because my bunks are 12 foot long.  The carpet and 1 gallon of glue was $46.00.  I've been all over the internet shopping, calling carpet stores, and that was the best price I found.  Plus to have the glue shipped it's $15.00 because it's Hazarodus Material.
