Based on those points the CJ would be 14 points but that's because the Hull type doesn't match any of those listed since its a Deep V.  No matter what it would be in the stock class.

Henry if it didn't take on any water towing it back that might just work  :smile30:

Mythbusters reskinned a plane using nothing but Duct Tape and then they actually flew the plan after that.  You might have to keep a few rolls around to replace it each round consider it part of the inspection after each round.  Have to look to make sure there are no trees in there.

There was a guy in a Baja jet boat at the 1st tawakoni get together that flat ass hauled he mail, it was a deep V hull too. I think he pretty much owned the 5 wide daycruiser race.

As Henry used to say put out a little chop and this will cut right through it.  Or so they say will have to find out when it hits the water this year.

Generally, when a single turbo is being used, the hair dryer is what has installed.  They have proven to produce ungodly amounts of horse power without many of the drawbacks of either a blower or typical turbochargers.

By "hair dryer" I'm assuming you mean a procharger or Vortec style supercharger? If so that will be addressed if it arises. I would be inclined to class that as a screw type blower. Single turbo can make serious power, but boost is boost. Is a guy is making 12psi any different with an 8-71 than a guy making 12psi with a single turbo?

I don't mean to nit-pick, but yes there is a difference in the same boost from a turbo compared to a roots type blower, like the 8-71.  It turns out there is quite a lot of difference, because the roots blower will heat the air much more than a turbocharger at any given boost,  and that heated air in turn increases the potential for detonation which makes it possible to run more boost with a turbo than a roots blower.  Even the cooler air from the turbo will have more efficiency than the heated air of the roots.
The roots blower also adds considerably more weight to the boat than a turbocharger, thereby slowing the acceleration.

Yes, by hair dryer, I am referring to the ProCharger type blowers.

Just to have fun and muddy the water more "What about if the blower has a chiller?" Man there are so many factors with motors there is no way to even this out.  I tell everyone run what ya brung and hope it is enough, then look over your shoulder cause there is someone a lot faster coming at ya.  :smile16:

This is coming from the one who is probably the one coming a lot faster.

Hell guys it all in fun .. If you want to go and play , just go and enjoy.. If you get put on the trailer , so what .. Nothing is far in this type of racing .. If you going to get your felling hurt by loosing , you need to stay home ..

These guys are just trying to put on an event and have fun .. So go with the flow or just stay at home ..

If it's all in fun that's fine, but throwing $50 in the can to get smoked isn't exactly fun. That's a lot of beer money. I got no quams at all with losing a race in my slow A$$ boat. I'll run anyone, I don't care. The classes for fun are perfect, for money, well then people get all testy.

EDIT: I could have sworn I saw somewhere that this thing was $50 to enter, but not finding it now. My bad if I'm wrong on that.

Yes I can't find it either but that's what joe is leaning towards for the slower classes.

No doubt, this kind of deal isn't for everyone. But for those who would like to do a little competitive racng with boats that are closely matched. $50 per class entry is extremely affordable.  Hell I don't think $50 will get a guy and his wife into an SDBA race to watch. Lol

Cost us about a grand for the weekend to race. Minus travel expenses.

I think it is worth 50.00 to do this just to be able to go and meet some new hot boat people and maybe get a couple of runs in .. Hell is cost 10.00 to to get in the gates at Joe Pool so I don;t think the 50.00 is a bad price for something like this .. I hope I will be able to do this in June .. But I might not have the money to get there with the cost of my engine repair ,, But if it was closer i know I would try it for 50.00.. it would teach me a lot on what I need to improve on ..

Billy if your "good motor" isn't done why not run with your old one? I'm sure it would drop you down to the super stock class, it was an iron headed 454 with a single 850 on pump gas wasn't it? I'd like to meet you and Galen in person.

Yeah it is a 461 , Merin iron eagles heads, and a  little 830 on it .. I would need to freshen it up this time before i dropped it back in .. It has been ran hard for many years and it was assembled by me in my shed..

I should have the big engine back in before then  , paying for it may be another story .. LOL .. I think Galen wants to go , so maybe we can make this happen ..  Galen and I are just like brothers.. We both have to go to look out for each other  ..
