Memorial Day weekend 2011 NORTH

What's everyone doing this upcoming Memorial day weekend?

On Saturday, the kids and I are going over to the Pecan Cemetery where there is a memorial service dedicated to our fallen military brothers and sisters of wars past and present. I take the kids to this ceremony each year on Memorial day weekend.

After that is over, it's game on with the boat!

Where's everyone thinking about meeting: Lake Lavon Collin Park (too many jet skiers) or Pebble beach? Or even another lake?

Cool Jasson. Not really looking for a "party" as I'll have a boatload of kids. Just wondering where everyone will be.

Good family boating or party boating?

I mean....if no one up here is planning on doing anything, I don't see any reason why we can't head down south a few hours and float with y'all.

Allot of family peeps down here, but we know how to party responsibly! :smile30:

Hmmmmm.....cool. Might have to think about that. It'll be me and my two little ones (8 and 6) and my GF and her two little ones (5 and 6).... so I'm trying to stay clear of any dangerous areas.

ya ya, I'm aware that there are idiots everywhere but I'd like to limit my chances of actually meeting one of those idiots if at all possible.

My Dr. appt got move up from Friday to Wednesday.  There is a little concern over the surgery site.  Once I get past that I will know better what we are going to do.  Forecast says 20 MPH winds all weekend.  My wife and I both hate the wind.  If it is blowing like that I doubt we will go to the lake even if Doc does approve it.  Not trying to be Debbie Downer, just letting you know where we stand.  I'm sure Ken, Donnie, Jimmy and the bulk of the Lavon crew will be at Collin Park.

Hope you have a safe trip Sr.

We'll probably head on over to Pebble beach, anchor off the beach and set up camp up on the sand. The water has come up one foot since last Thursday (5/19) so there probably isn't too much sand left. On Saturday, we'll be out there about 1 pm or so. Sunday TBD and Monday TBD.

Even if it's windy on Saturday and Sunday, it's forcast to come out of the south so we'll be protected at Pebble beach.

Hope your doctors appointment goes well Matt.

I don't know if we'll be doing much boating at all this weekend with winds forecast above 20mph on both Saturday and Sunday. Monday might be our best day as it's only supposed to be blowing 15mph. I'm not sure what we are going to do at this point.
