I saw Donnies boat today. I think he was serious about installing a mast and sail.

Lol...he towed it to the Labor Day party... I hope he gets serious and gets it running soon......he has a sharp looking boat.

Here's a few pictures of the carb installed. The motor started but it wouldn't run smooth or idle. The butterfly valve was closed and I didn't have the choke hooked up yet. I'll run the wires to the proper keyed 12v in the morning and give it a shot.

The fuel line is on backwards because it wouldn't fit facing aft. I installed it this way and ran a longer fuel line as a temporary measure just to get it running. I hope to get the correct fuel line soon.

Speaking of fuel lines, the braided line you see in the pictures leaked like crazy when I did a pressure test prior to starting the motor so I replaced it and used just plain fuel line.

You need a new spark arrestor.  That thing is fubared.  Carb looks good.  You can loosen the screws holding that choke spring and rotate it until the choke opens.  You will need to crack the throttle a little to get the fast idle screw off the cam so it will open.

You're right, it does look like shiot. Wheres a good place to get a new one?

I'll rotate the chock in the morning and set the throttle screw on the throttle linkage too. How do you adjust these things with a vacuum guage?

Glad it fits but man-those arresters have got to choke air from the carb!I guess you gotta have it with the cover-but a small aluminum scoop without the arrester would definitely make a difference!!! :evil:

Go with a K&N. Flows awesome and USCG approved for use in a closed engine compartment as a spark arrestor. My K&N is three inches tall, but I want to find one that's 2 1/2 so I can run a 1" spacer under the carb shown in the pic. As it is there it would hit my hood.
