They make some type of silicone plugs that you can pet in the holes so you don't have to worry about threads and pins. My powder coating buddy has a big box of them! :smile30:

You read my mind.. Went to Harbor Freight and got a 1/4 round bit for my router and a dolly to hold a stove. First order of the day, get an old beater oven ready for powder coating. Took this one and gutted all the switches and wiring for the stove top, covered the holes with some stickers, and added a wood work deck to the top. Then took said dolly and screwed it to the bottom so it's easy to roll around.

After that rounded the tops of the stringers and worked on shaping them some more. I think they're ready to get glued down. I'll make jigs in the morning, stick down the stringers and get to powder coating pump parts. The powder from Eastwood arrived today.
Where does the heat from the oven vent to? on my stove at home the oven heat is vented through the right rear burner coil, if I topped mine with wood I would have a fire in short order! Just thinkin out loud.  think.gif

I was kinda wondering about that too , but James is an appliance guy so I figured he has some kind of plan on that .

10-4, I like the idea and I guess I should have said; I want to do the same thing, How did you overcome the oven vent? (if it vented through the coil)  think.gif

I thought about that. Where the right rear burner is I drilled a bunch of holes in the wood for it to vent. The oven runs at 450*, takes 1,200* to light wood on fire. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow and use the laser temp gauge we check our fridges with to get a temp reading on the wood while it's running.

The back half of the pump is done. Gonna do the transom plate tomorrow morning. Between cutting grass, a service call, a pee wee football game and going to the Rangers game I didn't get all I wanted to done today.

Started blasting the transom plate. This sucks. It's got powder coat on top of powder coat. Blasted on it for about 45 mins and got maybe 1/8th done. Test fitted what's done so far.

The holes in the oven top too.
