Enforcer Project renamed, Junk Yard Dog.

The essence of Junk Yard Dog is to take a bunch of second hand parts and make them into something nice.

Seats are done. Followed the process covered in the Gearz video. Specifically, wash the vinyl real good. Next wipe it down with acetone. Mask everything off then spray it with the prep spray to remove any remnants of wax and what not. Next THREE coats of adhesion promoter sprayed in two minute intervals. Then two coats of vinyl color sprayed like anything else from a rattle can. THEN, a light third coat sprayed from 10-12 inches away if you don't want the vinyl too shiny.

A couple of pics of the scoop mocked up also. It looks like a nice yellow pinstripe will finish this thing off real good and do the Enforcer logo in yellow also.

Hopefully have it cleared and wired by the end of next week. I'm not gonna build the motor till it's ready to put in and fire. I don't want it sitting for month with all the assembly lube leaking into the oil pan. I need to get two Enforcer and one Junk Yard Dog stencils before the clear goes on. Still have some side graphics to do also.

CJ, this is how you do a project and get it done. I didn't get started yesterday till after work and was there till about 9pm doing the seats, which only cost $21 to get the job done.

Forgot to update the motor. All parts are back from the maching shop and in my possession. I thoroughly cleaned the block myself with solvent,  brushes, soap, pressured water, blown out with air and coated generously with WD. To get the crank ground .010 under and polished with new rod and main bearings was $102 out the door.

Those oil galleries are wicked clean now.

Dude, I spend most days fixing fridges in the shop or on the road doing service calls. I didn't even get started on the seats till 5pm and was there till past 9. Today was making the motor pretty to match the theme of the boat. Again, on a Saturday, didn't get started till about 2 or so.

First I had to get the old paint off. It came off easy on the heads but the stuff on the block is on there good so I just scuffed it. Then masked off everything that couldn't be removed to include the freeze plugs. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of motors get some ugly surface rust on the intake side of the head because they don't paint it. I covered it with tape, put the intake on, then took a razor blade and trimmed the tape to fit.  it looks awesome and the head to intake sealing surface is paint free.

Then threw all the pieces on it to see how it looks. It will sit this way for a couple of weeks (or Wednesday) till the paint job and wiring is done.

Dude Calm down I know you work hard if you didnt you wouldnt have a business to support the hobby.  Hence the  :smile30: at the end.  I know what it takes and I know its not easy if things had worked out the way I planned last spring I probably would have more time and money but at the same time less of both.

James ur boat ur project but just my 02 them headers would look better with the bells cut off.

You read my mind brother. I just want to wait till the motor is sitting in the boat so I don't cut them too short. I don't want the back of the boat looking like Kirby's. Would sure like it to run like his.. LOL

Might pull it in the shop and do a test fit tomorrow.

Love that new "Engine room" you have in your shop...very cool.

How did the test fit go? Any progress? I know the paint job and seats look sweet!
