Most of it is all labor that money includes everythign I have already bought that is sitting in the storage or the bedroom and livingroom. Like all the vinyl, fiberglass cloth, epoxy resin. I dont see even spending another grand to finish her up its just labor that it needs mostly.

This one's going to be done before both of ya'll anyway. Tomorrow is motor day.

I doubt that , mine's almost there :smile30:
LOL I would bet James puts his on the water first.
James has an advantage he can work on his when work is slow. I would like to see Spd park the kona outside the salon to work on that then come back in and do some hair.

Parked out front it would definitely attract some attention though. Maybe you should do that spd and paint a sponsorship from the salon on it. Imagine if we can make this pile look this good what can we do for you.

When you are at work you are getting paid by someone to be there. When Shannon and James are at work there is no pay when it is slow. If you worked on your boat while at work you would probably be fired. Problem solved. LOL.

Very true. But then they don't give me enough work to do so then that is their problem when I am working on other things. :smile30:

I actually consider it to be a very good day if I don't have time to do anything to the boat :smile30:

I own my company and have employees. If all is running well I'm making money without lifting a finger, other than pointing out what to do. This is what the Army taught me how to do. I wouldn't call is as much luck as working for a bigger goal. Plus, the Army retirement check always makes a nice fall back....

Speaking of owning a business... Some a$$hat is going on google, yahoo, and superpages and leaving reviews saying we sold them a fridge last week for $800 and that it broke the next day, we would not fix it or replace it, and that the person on the phone was rude and used racial slurs. This is TOTALLY false. I don't even think we have a fridge in our shop that would cost $800!! On the yahoo one this person had to make a profile. It's a hidden profile with the name Latisha on it. Our craigslist ads are getting flagged heavily this weeks also. This has to be one of our competitors in the area.

James I understand owning the business and that's my goal eventually its the only place that I can truly work to my potential. Its a goal I am always actively pursuing. Everything else is means to that end. My grandmother taught me the ins and outs of owning a business. Problem with most of hers is she was really self employed and worked her tail off but the few she had that were not self employed ran good and made money while she did the self employed ones.

Sucks on the bad reviews sucks that it's most likely a competitor but in the end it all works out, negative people usually end up with bad things happening due to their own negativity. You have an honest business and word of mouth is much better than any other advertising.

Ain't nothing wrong with working for someone else and paying into that social security fund also. My dad owned several of his own businesses over the years and of course fudged numbers when possible. The down side is while you can save lot of tax dollars it bites you on the other end. His social security is squat now. If I wasn't a dumb private when I first joined, I should have paid into the thrift savings program the Army has. There would be a big fund there. We all say "Well I can save and invest and make twice what that pays". Yeah right.... It gets blown.

Anyway, responded to the reviews on Superpages, Google and Yahoo.

I recall something like this coming up awhile back too, someone flagging your listings on CL. what a chickenshit manuever. The racial slur thing is just over the top, some people are idiots.

James read through the responses and very good responses. I like the response in the yahoo saying we went through all the receipts and called all customers to verify everything is working good.

You might want to edit the Yahoo post at this point not a major thing but sometimes some people look down on little things.
"Whoever placed this ad is probably the same person who heavily flagging out CL ads in the last week."
to
"Whoever placed this ad is probably the same person who is heavily flagging our CL ads in the last week."

The google link didnt work for me btw.

Well, was gonna get to some motor work today but after a morning of shop duty the afternoon turned out pretty nice with clouds and not too hot. My son and I fired up the compressor and went to work. Got the entire top side DA sanded then turned to wet sanding and got the first color coat shot. That Ford blue is really bright so I added about an ounce of gloss black to tone it down a bit. Looks great.

well James just consider yourself blessed that you don't have to pay into the SS fund... the rest of us folks that have worked all our lives and paid into SS will probably never see a dime of that money, it was all given to the freeking people too lazy to work!

Amen to that
Not that I like it one bit but its totally true by the time the baby boomers hit the SS it will sink like the SS Titanic.

Shoot George, I paid into SS for years and years, still am. I've even had a few years where I paid in the max and they quit taking it out of my pay. I better get mine when it's time. I'll bet most people don't even know there is max for one year of payments. When I worked for Triple Canopy we'de hit that in August.
