Uh, I read it as how far are you willing to tow your boat! think.gif

Pretty much..

I was just wondering what people's thoughts on it were. Longest we have towed so far is about 5 - 5 1/2 hours, but I wouldn't be adverse to towing farther. I have entertained the idea of goin to Del Rio/Amistad for one thing. Thats about 10-12 hours if I recall correctly, been awhile since I been out there.

I have also thought it would be cool to spend a week or so out on Lake Powell on a houseboat. But have my boat along to tow behind the houseboat, so once out on the lake could still go ridin around once the houseboat is parked. Powell's a long way though obviously, lol...

Tawakoni and San Angelo is about the farthest I have gone about 8 hr Amistad would be cool I haven't been there since 2001 or so Nice big lake

One thing I am not keen on however, is having to stop over somewhere for the night. Depending on how far you were going of course, but I would hate the thought of leaving the boat unattended in some hotel parking lot somewhere.

*edit* I was wrong about Amistad, its only about 5 hours (give or take). I was thinking of when we went to Big Bend. We spent the night somewhere around Amistad which was about half way there.

I agree,  thought I have would be to stop at camping spots along the way...  sounds pretty simple

Well Disturbed and I went to Tenn. to get Lucky Draw.  That was a pretty long haul.  think.gif

Ya it is. We drove home nonstop (other than gas stops) from Graceland couple years ago. That was a bit of a drive. :cheesy:

This I would be fine with & would help break up a long trip. Hotels, not so much. Plus the $$$.

Just keep your boat with in 50 yds. It will be within range.  think.gif

Amistad? Yea we went back in 2001 I think it was. About 5 hrs. for us. When we went there was about 20 boats that all went together from south Texas. We had a convoey. It was cool. The lake there is real nice. A little rough at time but had a very memorable time.  :smile17:

Forgot about that. Thats a longass roadtrip, lol...  Some years ago on another board some of us were on, there was talk of meeting in New Mexico with some of the west coat bunch that we used to BS with. Never could get anything nailed down, too many people had different schedules, etc.. Elephant Butte was where we were supposed to go.

My pile at the 1:58 mark and then again at 2:40 ish

I've seen a vid from the power tour, but not that one. Cool. What area of the river were ya'll on? I always read & see pics dealing with the Parker Strip, but from what I see of it, most of the time the water is all blown to chit & choppy as hell. Looked pretty nice there where that was taken.
