I have another tool you will need that I made to hold the pump shaft to remove the impeller nut while the pump is out.

Okay, that's cool. I was thinking about pulling the pump at mi casa and heading to your shop to use your bench and parts cleaner to rebuild the pump. Whatcha think?

Well I could have had you back on the water by SAT but just read this I have 4 complete pumps JC and JG two of the 4 I would sale they are complete with intake and all I think they have aluminum A in them 400 and they could have been yours.  Your going to need an intake gasket also if you didnt order one.  MaKe sure you get the imp and wear ring clearance RIGHT or you will be doing it all over AGAIN.

Ain't nuthin to a pump man. A shaft, a bearing, an impeller and a couple of seals. I have all the tools to take it apart and a Seloc manual. I'll be there at 8 to change the imp in the Glastron then start glassin the Enforcer.

Test ran the boat yesterday and it ran beautifully. The motor stayed cool and with the new impy, at WOT I got 4,600rpm and can now cruise at 3,000 rpm. Overall I'm satisfied!!

Who'd a thunk a worn out pump would have such a drastic effect on cooling the motor???

I can't believe how easy it was to rebuild that pump.......soooo easy.

We took the old pump out, rebuilt it, reinstalled it in 7 hours. Then the very next day we were on the lake. Needless to say I'm a "happy camper" now!!!

What clearances did you set it up at?

I just now saw this question....apologize for the length of time it took me to reply Sturat.

I didn't use a feeler gauge to set the clearance between the wear ring and impy. Since I do have a "Shouldered" wear ring, I spun the shaft with the impy on it and shimmed it until I no longer heard the impy rubbing on the wear ring. This is just a slow cruiser so precise and close clearances aren't as necessary as those "go fast" jets y'all have. Lol.

I will say this though, she really ran well on the lake on Sunday September 9, 2012. She shot a nice rooster tail too.

I plan on GPSing the Crusader tomorrow night at Collin park.
