did he run off?,  maybe because from his list he made,  I still see no progress on his boat,  maybe his carport but not his boat  crazy.gif think.gif
Had to make a makeshift work area under the carport so work could get done instead of everything just piled up waiting for a nice day.  Just like to finish working on the CJ need to finish the covering over it so it quits filling up with water from the rain.

I would complain about all the rain but you seem to have cornered that market.

why do you have to modify the oil pan?

Either need to pull the pan off the reverse rotation 360 which may not work right since it was in a direct drive boat set at an angle or I make/modify one that has enough oil capacity rather than the typical 5 quarts.

Because I want to get my boats out on the water same as all of you.

More oil capacity is no doubt a good thing, but nothing necessarily wrong with a 5 quart pan. That's whats on mine, front sump pan at that. Lots of boats had them. Not tryin to change your mind, just throwin it out there that oil pan modification may could get scratched off the list & you focus that time/energy elsewhere.

Dman thanks for the advise, its a truck rear sump pan so it probably would be fine in a jetboat then I was just concerned with running out of oil on a long high speed run like at BCR from the ramp to beach.  2 more quarts of oil would give the rest of the oil time to get back down there.  I guess I will have to look at making sure the oil drains are good to go if i leave the stock pan.  If I did modify it I have another pan here I was going to cut the sump from and weld it on to the front of the current sump to add the extra capacity.

Do you have a high Volume oil pump on your engine with the 5 quart pan?

That is something to be considered & admittedly I know nothing about Chryslers and their drain-back characteristics. It would just suck to cut up your pan in the event something goes wrong & you are left with nothing & have to find a replacement, etc.. I'd at least try & find another pan to modify & leave your factory pan as is since you know it works.

To be honest I don't recall, lol. I got it used from Duane. Just guessing I'd say yes, it was a Mellings & it had been blueprinted I believe he said. Not sure whats involved in that, guess it makes it more badder asser...

the wall needs to quick talking and work on the boat...

What do you think the updates were about.  The motor is part of the boat.

No Motor = No boat

lol yea 74 pages of talk! Least mine is just 34 pages

There was some work in there too, besides talking is still work energy is expelled in the process.  in this case its typing and as such work is definite as tehre is a transfer of energy and motion over time and space.

Seems to me you're just a project collector. I'll bet not one ever gets done. Recommendation. Sell all your junk and get one nice running boat so you can spend this summer at the lake, not behind a keyboard.
