Seems to me you're just a project collector. I'll bet not one ever gets done. Recommendation. Sell all your junk and get one nice running boat so you can spend this summer at the lake, not behind a keyboard.

Be like Nike, "Just Do It".

James Good advise unfortunately even if I could sell all my projects probably wouldn't have enough to buy even another project.  I know the last two years have been a lot of talk and not a lot of walk.  It will get done though I just work on a different timeline than some of ya'll.

Come on CJ! Let's see some boat progress, the motor is the easy part! :smile30:
It may be the easy part but it is motorvation.  Besides with the rain we have been getting can't work on the CJ.  The Carlson is stashed at my parents house and besides the steering really doesn't need a whole lotta work.  I have the new transom ready to go in just need to finish a little grinding and glass it in.  Once the transom is in the cap will go back on and the stringers will get installed.  I have all the supplies just need the good weather on the weekends when I am not working.

Hopefully there will be more progress on it and updates on these pages this spring than there has been in the last couple of years.  I have a welder lined up for the repairs on the pump already as well.  I also now have access to a machine shop if I need to make some new parts for the pump.  But that's way down the road.  At least now I can accomplish something whether it be on the motor or on the boat depending on the weather.

Well the only way to get it done is to do it! Excuses never accomplished anything! It's time to finish one of them! :smile30:
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse!

Wasting y'all breath and time!!  :smile29:
If you just take one project and devote all your spear time and money on just it, instead of 10 other projects that one will see tons of progress!! Or like James said sale all of them or even keep the ONE that means the most and take the extra money and finish or at-least work on the other!!  :smile30:

To many hens in the fire!! This will be yet another Summer that you will miss and peeps will be hard on your tail about it again!! We or all just trying to help and motivate you on all the junk to get one going!! :smile17:

Mike I know and I appreciate it.  I am making progress on my disease

And patch the progress I did to get the motors on stands under the carport is me getting something done and not making an excuse about it anymore.  Tired of not being able to do something.  hell I almost moved the couches out of the living room and moved the motors in but momma is much happier with this solution.

Oh and I am concentrating on the CJ mostly with the only distraction being getting some work done on the motor for the Carlson otherwise the rest of the projects are on the back burner.  If only I could take a week off of work and the weather was nice.

Your gonna have to put your foot drown with momma and your money and time! And if you need help hiding it I'm sure tons of us on here can tell you how. most of us are married, and have been threw the no's and your not going to do that, stage!! But there's always ways around it to make both happy happy happy!!

Sounds just like me when i started the Funjet and the youngblood at the same time crazy.gif I found out that there isnt enough brain cells to work on both at the same time,,,too much going on in the gearbox to comprehend! So i just covered the Youngblood up and put all of my attention on the Funjet,,and before too long it all came together and is done.  Well some time passed after that project due to lack of interest and family matters,,but all of ya'll have motivated me and kept pushing until  i got off my arse and started getting parts coming in and actually focusing on one item at a time until it was finished,, i like alot of you guys get side tracked easily with so many things going on with a restoration and its very easy to jump around and not accomplish a thing.  So CJ i know for a fact these guys are pushing for a reason,, they all know what it takes to get it done and also know the hurdles we have to jump! plus i would imagine they would like to see you at some of the gatherings,,spoken from someone that hasnt been to one in a long while!    And yes i am still plugging away one item at a time on the Youngblood and it will be on the water this summer!!!!!!! GIT ER DONE!!!!

okay just two words for now Thanks guys

Maybe a few more I forgot to mention I now have a helper, when he is available.  I couldn't have gotten the motors moved around without his help.  Since I hurt my shoulder I just don't have as much strength in that arm.  he wants to see the boat on the water and wants to use it for his birthday party this year so he is helping motivate me too.

That is a fact!!! I have the motors ready for three boats and still don't have one floating yet!!!

I'm an example of how easy a motor is to build. My semi-stock motor was torn down, machined and reinstalled in less than three weeks....that was working on it every evening too. It all depends on how motivated you are as a builder to get your project back together. I know some really financially broke guys with their sled running.....and they've done as much work as what you're doing. Also.....just get that 360 running and then add to it with high performance parts later... By getting your boat running and on the water will motivate you 100 more times than just looking at it in the back yard. Slow progress is good.....but a snails progress doesn't show any motivation at all.

Sit down and create a time line with achievable goals on it....milestones. Then after you create your milestones, create steps (inch stones) that will help you achieve each of your milestones. You're milestone isn't the final product....a lake ready boat, that's the end goal. The milestones are the steps to get to the end goal.

Man, we aren't trying to tear you down CJ....just trying to be honest and up front with you. Get a plan, execute and stick with it. There's a lot of folks here that want to help you and will help you in an instant.....but they can't do the work for you....and shouldn't.

Cliff thanks and no performance parts on the 360 for the CJ just a clean up and a carburated intake for now.  Maybe a cam swap if I have the time but I am really not planning on touching that short block just putting the heads back on it and the new intake and running it as is this year.

Yes I have a punch list and now I have an a way to work on other areas of the punch list when I can't work on one.  Namely now I can work on the motor when I can't work on the boat.

If it were me i would get the engine done and finished and wrapped up. That would be the end of that project. That way you have to look at a finished motor and listen to it begging you for a home cradled in the boat! Motor motivation :cheesy:  That was punishment enough for me on the Youngblood,,staring back at the engine and looking at an empty hull!
