If it were me i would get the engine done and finished and wrapped up. That would be the end of that project. That way you have to look at a finished motor and listen to it begging you for a home cradled in the boat! Motor motivation :cheesy:  That was punishment enough for me on the Youngblood,,staring back at the engine and looking at an empty hull!
I agree that is a great motorvation.  It is also easier to work on the motor at night when I have more free time than the boat and the motor will not take that long to put together.

Now if only my neighbor would quit blowing up motors in his boats and getting me to help him fix yet another boat he bought.

This is how i see CJ.    If this were in his bed waiting on him he would have to go move his projects around first before tending to business!  Its called getting your priorities in order  :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

So a quick update, Got the rest of the bad glassing ground off and around the transom after I got off work today.  So now it's ready for the new wood.  I just need to fill in a few low spots put a layer of glass on it and clamp on the new transom wood and glass it in.  I wont get back to it until later in the week because of work and needing a nice day where I ca glass it in early so it will start to cure before it gets cooler.

And for the proof since without pics there is no proof.

Yes that's me all bundled up.  Between all that and bathing myself in baby powder prior to bundling up I got no itch.  By the way that cap I was wearing was brown when I started thats all the dust that got on it.

And here is the transom all ready to go

Not trying to jinx myself but trying to get it ready for my birthday this year.  probably not going to make it but definitely should be ready for Bay City as long as I don't have any major setbacks.  Only thing I have major left to get is the fuel pump and starter.  Speaking of which Jim do you still have the Holley Blue that needs a rebuild?

Don't let the fuel pump and starter slow you down, there's lots of work that can be done while waiting for those parts.

Yeah, looking at a hull with no stringers, no cap, no nothing.... A starter and fuel pump are the least of your worries. I would be hoping the two pieces will still go back together. Top priority. They've been apart for over two years now?

Oh...........................

QUIT WORKING ON OTHER PEOPLE'S SH!T!!!

Back during WWII, the P-51 aircraft build time from conception to test flight was 102 days....now THAT'S progress!!!!!

CJ, if you keep working on it like that at least 1 day a week, you'll be done in no time.  :smile30:

Keep it up!  clap.gif

Cliff  yes I know I am not worried about those right now but still keeping an eye out for the starter, fuel pump is an easy one.  Just saying if anything holds me up it will be that or if I run out of resin, lol.

BTW decided to take a me day from work and get the transom glassed in before the weather turns bad this week.  The wood is now glued into the boat still needs a layer of glass and resin over the top and to be tabbed in.  After that the cap goes back on.

Here it is all clamped in place waiting for the epoxy to dry.
