VERY steep ramp....my son almost lost my truck at that ramp......many folks haven't been as lucky as my sons was.... Just be careful there and be sure to use more than one person to launch....there's a ton of rocks on each side ot the ramp and from my experience, no where to really beach your boat if you're doing single person launching.

It's not a difficult ramp.....just gotta be careful using it.

I'd prefer to find a "better" ramp. Jen does most of the backing...and she's good, but not super experienced....I don't want to lose a truck over the deal.

I didn't mean to scare you off..... not at all.

We are putting in over at the marina. There's a dock there to tie your boat off while you park the truck. It's a $5.00 fee but in my opinion, well worth it. My GF hates steep ramps too....so I always have to consider the ramps as if I'm self launching....that's why I chimed in.

You're talking about the marina on the other side of the bridge and not 429, is that correct?
Have you launched there before and can one person launch there OK?

Water level  crazy.gif  ya it's low. But you'll know when you get there. Drivers meeting  crazy.gif  does't mean much. Most will do whatever they want to anyway  whatever.gif

I hope they pay attention, this just helps people from getting hurt, It only takes one screw up and this event could be done forever.  I can tell you now my boat will not see water if their is chaos running around. Funny how people who attend still do not follow the directions.  There are some fast boats coming and everyone needs to be as safe as possible.

Yes and yes. I almost always launch at that marina. Perfect for one person launching as they have courtesy docks.

OK. Sorry if I confused anyone yes first yr most of everyone did use ramp across from sunset which is public ramp.  Yes it is steep but have used it several times and still have both my trucks.    Marina Del ray is at the other end of bridge its not that far.  And it easy to load and unload if your by yourself. The owner of Marina Del Ray will help anyone needing help put in if you want or need the help.  Its 5.00 to launch but well worth it it has wind break also incase wind is out of east. The public ramp can be kind of a biotch when wind is up and like cliff said it has rocks both side of boat ramp.  Also talked to owner of marina Del ray today he is going to give us our own gate lock and let any of the hot boat group park in his over flow parking lock and gate so nobody has to have there trucks parked along road. If u decide not to take them back to camp. When you pay the 5.00 just make sure you tell him your with hot boat group and he will write gate code on the pass for you.  Henry you are right drivers meeting is just a word of encouragement  to be safe answer ? And let GW say a few things and let me and Bobby say a few safety things about lake everyone needs to know. And to let everyone wanting or needing one to get a wrist band.  Neil I hope nobody has that attitude cause we have a good thing going.  But we all know there is always that one AZz hole !  GW Gary miller supports us 100% but he won't put up with stupid crap and we talk to him enough he knows what kind of water we have to have to be able to run.  In Oct they shut down that hole side of lake for us. If a boat other than a hot boat came under bridge they told them to keep it to a no wake hole way.  If anyone has ? Pm me your # or I will pm you back my # and you can call and ask.  Can't please everyone but trying to cover it all.

The authorities are very cool at this event! They are there for our safety, and are very personable. No one should be worried about them, and the drivers meeting is very laid back. Free coffee and donuts last year! :smile16:

I assume whoever shows up at the drivers meeting will be OK.  Is that a fair assumption?

Honestly, if you paid the $10.00 a day for the ability to gather on their property it would still be cheap entertainment.
It would probably be the cheapest thing you spend your money on for the outing.
I guess it would get you 2 1/2 gallons of unleaded or 1 gallon of race gas.

I think the key statement in the original posting was ..."y'all get the idea!" Of course your, live in, significant other, common law spouse, etc would fit the category. They are not deemed as "all them cousins, aunts and uncles" like down in Kentucky or Tennessee who might try to save a 10 dollar bill by claiming to be a wife or husband. People -common sense goes a long way!!

And if you can to get it.  If for some reason you can't get it pm me your # and I will call you.  And talk to you more in detail. He said let it slide last time cause we could use 429 boat ramp but since we have to use other ramp he isn't going to let it slide. Just giving everyone heads up if u are coming and made the plans this effects you pm me your # I will call you.
