ok, I have family that works for Acadian down here, They were just going to see what they could find out about standbys. From what I was told there would be a charge, abd I don't know what it would be so I am not going to stir the pot anymore. Does Crosby have an ems system or just a Fire Dept?spd500 said:

We have both Fire and EMS , that was who I was saying I could ask about getting an Ambulance team for standby . But , like I said , the Bayou Boys are the ones running the show and I wouldn't want to step on anyones toes . I do know that there are a few members here in the Crosby area , so they may have already talked to them about it . These guy do races all over the place and should know what they are doing .
mich talk to randall he is a cost guard after all. there is a thb member that is a emt? i'm not sure about the title,but he was at plowmans when that boat accident happened and he was first on scene i believe. anyway if there are volunteers there then i don't see why the po pos would have to get involved. after all if someone wants to volunteer their time and not get pd by the city or county then it should be ok i think. vdrivenman is a cop talk to him.

Like I mentioned before , Crosby Fire Dept is not part of any law enforcement agency .. If the Bayou Boys want to have Crosby EMS send out an ambulance I am sure it can be arranged . As far as the law enforcement goes , I bet they would be alot easier to deal with if you can show that you are trying to be as safe as possible an have a team standing by just in case .
it seems a byuboy is a little miffed about thbers talking to a coast guard member or cop. but i say if an emt or law enforcement officer thb or byuboyz member is there as a spectator who's gonna complain? accidents can and will happen anywhere anytime. whether pleasure boating,fishing or testing and tuning with your buddies. look what happened at plowmans and there wasn't any emergency crews standing by, there just happened to be a thb member that knew what to do in a medical emergency and thank god he was there! no one here is trying to step on any toes just throwing around ideas in a public forum.

i understand its their deal going on but its my friends that are going to be down there in the water.. i like what sandy said about being safe.. you know when we went east of Dallas for that event , the coolest part about going there is that the local people and game warden was involved, they set up a drivers meeting, told us how to come back to starting lanes, had a VF standing by with a dive team and boat rescue, i just wanted to make sure that everyone has the chance to get medical attention, lets face things happen...

Focus here, again this is not a sanctioned event. TEST AND TUNE . No different than any given day we run our boats at high speeds. Because this is going to be a little more organized with a lot of people around, for that fact it is safer then what we normally do on the water. We draw too much attention it will get shut down like it did on the Red River. Let's all go be safe and responsible and watch out for each other!
