Weak rooster tail??

Is there some sort of adjustment I need to make to the place diverter because this is sorta embarrassing?? (and not worth the $700)I know I don't have the most powerful engine (stock 460) but was hoping for somethin a little more then this, or is this the normal size? I haven't GPS the speed yet but don't feel I'm getting the high 60's low 70's that was expected? Am i just asking for to much on the rooster tail and speed??

It looks to be going all the way up. What exactly does a wedge do and do most people run with them? How much is that going to set me back and are they worth it??

I had a stock 460 berk 12jc AA no droop and I was throwing a larger roost than that. Is the diverter droping under a load? You can buy a wedge cheap 30.00 range for the plastic ones plus you will need to be careful not to tear your gaskets or just figure on two new gaskets there again not much money.

What kind of bowl is on the pump? If its a G("split") bowl, you can try the wedge deal & that may help. If its a C bowl (one piece), wedges aren't usable. I'd then check the adjustment. When you have the diverter all the way down, how is the nozzle pointed? I have mine set where the nozzle is pointing straight back, I have seen some where the nozzle was pointing downward. May lose some height that way possibly?

Here is a pic of mine when it still had a C bowl on it, diverter is all the way down.... Now days it is straight back, not even pointed down a little bit.

You only need 3 to 5 degrees of down looks like to me you have about 25 to 30 degrees down . set your deverter in the full down position then adjust it to were it is almost level you dont need all that down trim.that 25 to 30 needs to be up trim.Hope this helps :smile15:

Please enlighten me why cant he just adjust the diverter up looks like to me in the second batch of photos in the side view he has way too much down adjused in.With that much down it has got be pushing down the bow to the extreme.I would venture to say at 0 degree  his lever is almost at full throw with no room for positive(up Trim)  :smile17:

I don't really have to grind anything do I?? I'll just end up breaking more stuff in the process! ha. So When the diverter is in the down position I need to adjust it to neutral position??  Is this done just by the one cable? I havent really looked at it to close because i just figured it was put on the right way.... or is it on the right way...and this is the best its gonna get???

If you keep the bowl that you have.................you will have to grind

If you buy a split bowl you can add a wedge and other bolt-on's :smile12:

Is it because of the type of place diverter that was put on? Other people with the same set up are saying they were throwing up roosters bigger then this?? A new bowl is too expensive for this summer...

This is all said "if you want to make a larger tail"

After looking at the pictures again I see your probem. Are you sure that is the correct diverter for that pump there is no more room for adjustment. I can see there is no more up adjustment left. :smile14:Something on upside down ?

Maybe the peeps that made it was upside down??  It happens....  :smile12:
