Underwater lighting on a Jet Boat

I've just stumbled upon and awesome product for underwater lighting. Have any of you guys done this to your Jet? I think it would be awesome to do to the Crusader.

Upon looking at the installation video, it seems like a very easy mod to do.

I don't know about underwater lights although I have seen them on a boat at Lavon and they did look really cool.
I ordered some strip lights from http://www.coastalnightlights.com/ to light up my interior. They too look pretty cool.
Coastalnightlights was easy to deal with and I received them a few days after I placed my order.

Ya, those indirect LED lights are beautiful. I was thinking about installing them under each swim platform on the transom. Easy hook up though I'm not sure the cost for two lights.

yep those ocean led lights look nice... they would probably sell more of them if they would put the price on their website and a page to order them from... even the dealer search page has alot to be desired...that said try this http://www.yachtlights.com/item--Ocean-LED-Amphibian--amphibian

We recently used some strip LEDs at The Store Decor for an outdoor sign.  They claim to be waterproof.  I will have to find the ebay link.  It is a color changing flexible super bright LED strip with a remote.  You can make then dance, chase, fade whatever you like.  They use a 12 VDC source and were like $50 for an 18 ft strip.  They should easily work for accent lighting inside or to mount under the swim platform.  The strips are about 1/2" wide and 1/4" think and can be cut to length.

Cool looking strips. Where would I run the wires??

The same way you would run them for any other lights, depth finder, etc...  It's just a small 2 conductor wire about the size of cheap speaker wire.  You will have to put a penetration in the hull somewhere and seal it with 4200 or something similar.  The penetration can be above the water line.  I guess you could run it up and over the transom at some point or If your swim platform has handles like my cruiser or Chad's you could hide the wire inside the handle.

I  have never used any cliff but during the concerts on the harbor in Rockwall there is a ton of boat out there that have these on them most of them are the wakeboard boats.  They do look good

Ya Jasson, I think it would look good too. This being a Cruiser, I do run it at night and we do plan on coming down to watch the concert once this summer. It's a lot of work to get down there on a Thursday night.

I'm thinking about it.

Crusader I also have a Scarab and put lights in the engine compartment, cockpit area and under the bow. Looks real good at night while cocktailing at your favorite local floating bar and the chicks like the too. bling.gif bling.gif

Lol, I bet chicks dig it. I'm going to the Dallas boat show today and hopefully there will be some vendors there that sell these things. I don't mind putting two holes in the transom to install these things. I went to a few websites and their prices are insane and geared more towards the yatching group. Hopefully I'll find something more reasonable at the boat show today.

wish I could make the show this year but other stuff has come up. Yea check with the vendors and look at some of the powerboats to get some good ideas. I went to the Miami show a couple of years ago and talked to some people and they said for murky waters the red or blue lights show up real good.

Red or blue. Okay, I wanted blue anyway so that works out well.

Miami boat show huh?? I grew up just north of there and hit the boat show everytime it came to town. Nothing compares to the spread they put on down there.

Thanks!!
