Mine runs 65 hot and 75 cold.

Mine will hit 60-65 when it's cold with new oil and filter. After it's been run for a while it will be at 45 cold and drops as it warms up to about 15, but that's when I shut it down. Who knows how low it would go if I kept on it. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy at Blaines put on the slip to polish the crank, then the guy doing the work turned it down .010. I have a feeling that was the case on BOTH motors.

Oh, running a Melling oil pump and Valvoline VR-1 oil.

Hey, I still have my other motor sitting here with the pan off and six slugs still in it. I'll pick up some plastigauge today and measure it out.

That seems kinda far fetched to me.  Even though Blaines in not really a performance shop, they have been there a long time.  You don't survive that long doing that kind of work.  You may have an oil temp problem.  Only way to tell for sure is to put a temp gauge on it.  Perhaps an oil cooler is in your best interest.  I have one I'd sell.

I think with the extra .010 celarence , if the machine shop did turn it to 10 under , it would have knocked the bearing out by now and it would be knocking .. With the cam going away and not running good at idel , the pressure would be lower than normal any way .. I still say if you have 15-20 lbs of pressure at idle you will be fine ..

I still have that old oil cooler here that was on it last year. You could be onto something there, but I never really ran it that hard. I don't think the motor was ever on longer than 10 minutes all summer long.

That was the thing. At idle the pressure would creep back up to 40 or so, then drop again to 15-20 when it RPM'd up. It probably would have been kocking it they were all 10 under.

Gotta fix fridges now. We'll start a new thread on this next week after the motor is out.

And he doesn't drink either!! Lol....

Each time I ran someone, he would line up and we'd run 3 wide....made me a little nervous because we were running into the sun and I couldn't see my lane very well so I backed off.....
