Mine will hit 60-65 when it's cold with new oil and filter. After it's been run for a while it will be at 45 cold and drops as it warms up to about 15, but that's when I shut it down. Who knows how low it would go if I kept on it. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy at Blaines put on the slip to polish the crank, then the guy doing the work turned it down .010. I have a feeling that was the case on BOTH motors.
Oh, running a Melling oil pump and Valvoline VR-1 oil.
Hey, I still have my other motor sitting here with the pan off and six slugs still in it. I'll pick up some plastigauge today and measure it out.
That seems kinda far fetched to me. Even though Blaines in not really a performance shop, they have been there a long time. You don't survive that long doing that kind of work. You may have an oil temp problem. Only way to tell for sure is to put a temp gauge on it. Perhaps an oil cooler is in your best interest. I have one I'd sell.
