There's a new race class!!!!  It's called Lake Racer.  In this class, you'll need a coast guard approved jacket, rope deflector, kill switch, a helmet, and long sleeves and pants.  For $150.00 you get time trials and eliminations on Sunday.  Only catch is there's an 80 mph speed limit.  Almost forgot, it's a 1320 bracket race.  More details will be available once the SDBA gets their new website up and running.

That sounds like it could be fun? But kinda sounds like the river racer class? Sorry don't know the skinny on all the classes? Or is river racer all just dial in? No mph limit?

It's definitely a jet boat / Outboard class unless it includes jet ski's.
Then it'll be a jet ski class.

I tried to read up on it a little on the sdba website? But didn't see anything on it?

There is no current information on the SDBA website.  They are in the process of bringing a new website online.  There is no definite timeline on this but, they hope to have it up very soon.

. That 80 MPH class would be cool .. A lot less expensive that the other classes .. I would have gone for this when I first started doing the fast boat stuff .. My first V-Drive would run just about 85 MPH .. So on the clock it would be close..
It will be Fun .. Can't wait to get my Boat out there and run this year ..
How many of you guys have your boat Numbers on your trailer like the rule book states ?  I am going to have to make a plate to be able to put number on the back of the trailer that are 3 inch high.. My trailer does not have enough room on the back..  I will make something to  look kind of like a Licence plate hanging down on the passenger side ..

I am needing to put numbers on my boat and I am just going to do the 4 inch letters and numbers  on the scoop and not teh 6 inch numbers on the side of the boat .. Does anyone have a good picture of how they did the numbers on the scoop ..I will have a local sign shop do me some Vinyl letter and numbers ..
Mine will be something like this  ME 601 s  ...    4 inch high except the letter S and it will be 1.5 high  Then I will get the 3 inch number made in white for the Tow truck front and back windows and the trailer
Also - The SDBA stickers , where are you guys installing those .. It said to put it close to the cockpit on both sides .. Pictures please of this also ..Thanks Billy

My ME is 3" and I think the 014 is 5" and the SDBA sticker is on the back gunnel.

Thanks Loren,  Just want to make mine similar to what most are doing out there
According to last year SDBA book , it calls for the trailer to have the numbers also .. I don't think they enforce it though
If I do numbers  above the valve covers  , I can do 4 inch numbers and letters .. If not above valve Covers , then 6 inch on the side of boat

In the new Lake Racer Class, you don't have to buy a membership ($200) to race.  There will be no points awarded, and no cash payout (trophy's for first and second).  Also each boat will be able to race this class for one(1) year.  This will be a cheap and fun way to get a taste of racing, and know for sure how fast that lake boat really is ???

Guess I could take the boat out ,run 79.99 mph see what rpm's I'm turning ? Then wedge a block under the foot throttle so I don't break out !

I agree lake racer sounds appealing to me price wise but I've already broken the speed limit by the 660'.  think.gif
