assuming the same cut and weight, physics say they would have to be exactly the same.

If there is a difference it would be because of weight.  They are not going to weigh the same if they are identical in dimensions.  Seems to me Aluminum may spin up quicker than Stainless or Bronze BUT the rotating weight is so close and at such a small circumference I bet it will be un-noticable.  It's not like putting 22" wheels on a car with brakes built for 15" wheels but more like swapping a steel driveshaft for a CF one.  I'm interested to hear what the experts say.

the stainless would be heavier than alumn. but i know on a outboard a stainless will run faster vrs alumn, they say the water flows over the stainless smoother??????????????

Just my observation but the same HP will not turn a bronze or SS impeller as many rpms as an aluminum.  think.gif But a good tight pump with a detailed impeller will move more water at a lower rpm. :smile17:

in theory the aluminum will actually move more water than the others due to disformation (cup the water from flexing) They will not hold up though. If you had high HP and wanted to change your impy after each pass or two the aluminum would be a faster route. The veins will rip apart super fast that is the reason for the Bronze or SS if i am not mistaken.
Again this is just my .02

I HAVE GONE FAST WITH ALUMN. IF YOU KEEP IT LOADED THE ALUMN. WILL TAKE A LOT OF POWER. THE OLD BERKELEY ALUMN. HAD THIN BLADES AND WER FASTER THAN THE SS ONES. I HAVE A SS 9.5 IMP. FROM AT THAT IS VERY NICE. WHEN I SPUN IT IN THE LATHE IT HAD NO WABLE IN THE CASTING. WE RAN 4 NEW IMP. ONE DAY BACK TO BACK. THER WAS AS MUCH AS 3 MPH IN THEM. I HAVE A 9.5 ALUMN.  A 9.5 SS AND A 9.5 SS HI HELIX TO TEST AS SOON A IT GET TO 80 AND THE WATER IS NOT TO COLD.

Impeller arrived today. Looks like it's had some grinding done on it, but I hear that's normal from the factory.

Waaaaaa-Hoooooooo!!

Just scored a Berkeley split bowl off of Ebay for $100 plus shipping. The guy spelled Berkeley wrong so hardly no one looked at it. Looks like I'll be running a droop snoot if it ever gets back together.

What cam are you going to run with that AA?

Was the 66 on the sauce?

I also run an E pump in my Taylor SJ. I'm turning an A/B 6000 @ 73 MPH. But, It blows the pump every time out of the hole I am starting to do some pump tuning now that the power is there, Droop, loader, inserts for place diverter. I hope I can gain another 5 or 6 MPH in the pump. Although I may be asking too much from the pump. E pumps are not as efficient as a G or C because of intake size and angle.

There is a set of insert over on PB in the SPAM section.

66 was on the sauce. Best ever without was 57. I'll be running a Lunati Voodoo hydraulic cam with forged pistons and Ford racing aluminum heads.

After I put the Stealth intake on with the Demon 850 I noticed big time cavitation out of the hole. I bought the boat with an Edelbrock 750 on it. Worst possible carb choice for a boat IMO.

I'm no expert, but I don't think my diverter can take inserts, I could be wrong though. That would be cool to get fine tuned. I have a lot of work just to get running again!!

Looks like a good choice in a NOS cam for your build. I like running a little more RPM. I went with a 646 - 653 solid roller and no NOS. I was shooting for around 6000 RPM in my build and got as close as you can get without going over. However with the addition of two Proform 750 race carbs set for E 85. I'm told to expect a 5% to 6% increase in HP. ( over AV gas ) So I will probably land around 6200 when all is said and done. All this is on a 496 , 12.2 to 1 with rectangle port Iron heads.

I saw them and figured they were for a race nozel . I went ahead and asked about them sense you mentioned it, as I already bought the wedges he had. told him I would probably take them to if they fit my FTN.

I see so your going to tune the pump for the squeeze so you can get down when you want to but still have weekend fun drivabilty. how much more HP do you think your new combo is going to yeild over stock.

yes edelbrock carbs are  no bueno.
