Pump rebuild party

Man, Yesterday I spent $219 on a brand new Dyson vacuum cleaner at Sears and saved $300 in Cheddar on that deal.

Ya, Victoria got tired of using my 10 year old vacuum while cleaning my house so I upgraded for her. Lol. I'm glad she doesn't read THB.

A SET OF JOHN KAASE NEW P-51 HEADS AND A GOOD CAN WILL GET YOU THER. 10-1 OR A LITTLE MORE. JOHN AT BULLET CAMS MADE ME A 247-255 DURATION @ .050 WITH .609-.631 LIFT ON A 114 LOBE SEPERATION FOR THE 520 FORD. THE  P-51 HEAD IS THE BEST ONE YOU CAN BUY THAT HAS FORD EX. PATERN. IF WE HAD A SET FOR PAULS TURBO FORD IT WILL PICK UP 100 HP. HIS STEEL HEADS ARE PORTED WITH 2.25 INT. AND 1.76 EXH. THE CAM IN IT IS BULLET 253 D. .641 L. 114 C.L. ROLLER.

To paraphrase Chad, I don't quite have the "cheddar" for the P-51 heads. The Kaase designed Ford racing aluminum heads are half the price and the exhaust valve is only .05 smaller. The best part on the Ford heads is the ports are a good match on the Stealth intakeout of the box. All part of the 530hp big picture for the motor.

But on topic, I think there is more to be gained for my Glastron by converting the E pump to a C bowl with a droop snoot. The biggest slow down is drag on the hull. Getting more of it out of the water should be a priority. Picking the boat up just an inch on plane would eliminate a ton of drag on the boat, increasing both acceleration and top speed.

Anybody have an extra split bowl laying around?

Alright!!! I'm the proud new daddy of an AA impeller!!

EO, how much for your rebuild kit with no impeller? I'd like to go with a Berkeley kit if possible. Still looking for a split bowl if anybody has one.

Split bowl with a droop snoot might have to be a mid summer upgrade. Gotta get the motor right first, in addition to everything else getting done.

Hey EO, does going from a alumn. to a bronz or SS impellor change the performance? or do they all give the same performance?

Don't  quote me, but from what I've read 500hp is the safe max for aluminum.

yep thats true, 500hp or 5500 rpms, but what i'm wanting to know is if there's a performance difference between the 3, for example will swapping out a alumn impellor for a SS or a bronz make me go faster or same top end speed?
