Those actually are pretty close to the ones I am trying to clean up.  I tried to find new one's but couldn't. If these ones don't clean up I will order a pair of those.  Neverdull does good on alot of stuff,  but I doubt it would work on these, they really are crusty.  There are pits in the aluminum,  not real bad but the pits are there.

oo or you can let me take them for a day and i could get them all nice and shiny  :smile16: take a look at my flywheel cover on "my redo" thread on projects. its one of the few end pages..  think.gif

Well,  even with the TX crying out for my attention I managed to spend some time with the Kona today.  I got the entire inside of the boat final buffed this afternoon. And test fit the gauges.  The guy I got the boat from had cut the dash for angle bezels.,  and they were a different angle than the bezels that I was going to use.  I decided to grind it a little so I could mount the gauges without the bezels.  I got that done and got all the gauges in the dash,  but they are not going to stay there. I just can't make myself put a miss-matched set of used gauges in the boat after working so hard to make it look good.  The gauges I got from Henry just don't look like they belong there, so I will pass them along to someone else and buy the Kona a decent set of gauges that match.  Hopefully this weekend I will get the motor in and start getting the fiberglass laid to build the seat shells.

I got a home for them if you do not need them.  I can pick them back up at the Jac sometime.  I totally understand and agree with you.

No problem I will keep them in the truck and meet you at the river sometime. I just can't justify not buying a set of gauges for what is basically a new boat.  I really do appreciate you having given them to me though.

At $30 each buy new flip top fuel fills too.

I will probably order a new set for it , but I am going to see if the ones I have will polish out first . I really didn't plan on trying to make this a show boat , it was supposed to be built on a budget , but it seems like I am getting closer and closer all the time .

Matching gauges are a must on a restoration...

I agree , the nice gauges are not really optional . It's hard to complain about free parts , and if the boat didn't already look so good I would use them , but I need to put something that looks nice in the dash . Here are a few pics of the gauges in the dash right now .

Lol...very cool.

I thought about replacing mine all together two years ago because they were so plain....I went ahead and installed some bezels and that made all the difference int he world..... No need for new ones.

Hotboat Gospel right there!

I really believe that you will be ready for the water a month sooner if you just build a boat vs setting a deadline  :smile30:

After alot of thought and discussion with the family I regret to say,  this one is going to be for sale.  Bonnie and Mattie want a pontoon or a deck boat,  and I want the TX.  I will continue to finish the boat,  but if someone wants it sooner it can be bought unfinished.  Price will depend on where I am with it when it sells.  :smile18: :smile18: :smile18:
