I still need to flip the motor back over and put the other oil pan on , but it's painted and ready to go . I will probably try to get that done this evening . Anyway , here are the pics of how the motor looks painted , I am pleased with the results  :smile17:

Looks like FORD guys will be pleased also...  crazy.gif

Looks great man, good work. How long till it's running? You already have the MSD stuff, right?

I have the MSD setup and almost everything else to get it together and running.  Hopefully it will start coming together fast now, I really planned to be done by the end of the month, but I doubt I will make it.

I decided that the heads just needed to be cleaner , so I went after them with a scotch lock wheel on the air grinder . They are cleaner , but the scotch lock wheel leaves lots of swirls that I am not really all that pleased with . I knew it was going to do that  :smile19:

Its the same base/clear that is the blue on the boat, I have alot of it left I will probably not use before it goes bad. If you want to bring your motor to my shop I will spray it for you, or let you use my stuff to spray it yourself.

dumb question for you.. regular automotive paint will hold up on the block??

I have to buy some paint for the pump anyhow..

Trying to find a blue about the same shade you have just want it to look more candied on the pump and if it would hold up i will for dang sure have exrtra for the block.

Mike was telling about some SW single stage paint that gets that effect and he has had good luck with it..

I am not really sure how well it will hold up on the motor , but I had the paint already so it didn't cost anything . I think it will be fine on the block because it dont really get that hot in a boat . If you want the candy look you should get some of the stuff that I mixed into the blue that is on the boat itself , it gives a really cool effect . Kinda hard to tell you what the effect looks like , it's not really like any thing I could compare it to , but it really makes the color pop .

you take a stab at finishing up the pump yet?

No , still trying to decide what parts I am going to use on this boat . I was thinking I would use the diverter that is on the TX19 , but I have  been told that you can't use a dominator diverter on a berkeley pump . If that is the case I will probably finish this one without a diverter for now and start keeping an eye out for the parts to add one later . But I have not really decided 100% yet .

I gotcha...  Liquid dish soap on that o-ring will be your friend when you go to put the transom adapter on. May go on with minimal effort, may have to tap into place. I used a block of wood against the transom adapter, when I did it to mine. One time I just used my feet, lol.

I was kinda thinking some kind of grease woulld be good , hadn't thought about the dish soap idea . I was thinking of using the lube stuff for pulling wires through conduit on it .
