Thanks guys . The TX is just going to sit for awhile , but as soon as the Kona is finished it will get a place inside the shop and I will start getting to work on it . I don't plan on trying to get the TX done very fast , probably going to be more of a long term project .

That's what I'm doing with the hotrod boat out back. It's on hold till after the Glastron, and it will be super secret squirrel when it gets underway.... OR, it might just already be underway..

Blaze, my advice is to dump the Universal hull.  They have a problem with porposing when you put any power to them. Ask J.D. Sims in Dallas, he can give you more details.

Plan is to get it running with a stock rebuilt Ford, nice cam and a 4bbl, sell it, then start looking for TX.. Or if the wife has her way get a toon.

Great idea on the Universal hull, with a stock motor, they make great run-abouts, but if you put any Horse power to them, it's like Patch's racer!

Since I have the TX19 on the way I have decided to leave the stock heads on this motor and maybe do the can swap, without turbos.  I still want to clean the heads up and have them just aluminum though.  Anyone have any ideas for cleaning aluminum heads without having to take them off the motor? I was kinda thinking maybe acid,  but am not site?

There are alot of place es you can't get to with a Scotch brite wheel on these heads.  I was hoping someone might know of a decent cleaner or chemical that would clean them up fairly well.

purple power and a toothbrush to clean the heads, acid wash will turn them white and leave streaks.

congrats on the tx, its been in the back of my mind, if it were still available in the near future i was going to scoop it up and do composite stringers just because i didnt want to see it sit and go to waste.check out screamandfly about installs composite stringers in it.

Got the heads as clean as they are going to get with my elbow grease and taped the motor up to paint it . First coat of paint is on the motor and flashing , fixin to go shoot another couple coats and then clear it  jump.gif jump.gif jump.gif
