Shouldn't be long for wiring & firing then... Those last pics really show it off, the woodgrain effect looks great and that is a killer shade of blue. bling.gif
.

If you zoom in close, you can see the flake but the camera won't show the actuall effect. I bet it looks pretty good in person.

You really have to see it in person to get the effect of the flake , but it looks killer . Thanks for suggesting I put it in there . The paint job is not perfect , but I am pleased with it as a first try at painting .

I just got back from Randy's Driveshaft in Houston , they have some really smart guys that work over there . I got the yoke to adapt my 1310 driveshaft to my 1350 PTO , and now the motor is ready to go in  :smile17:

Congrats Sorry should have mentioned that earlier but usually don't like to use those u-joints as I have seen them break but at that size they should be ok

Don't like what ? The 1310 u joints ? Half the boats on here are running them , and alot of them are alot higher powered setups than this little motor is going to be making .

What I meant in the past I have seen in drag cars when people use an adapter u-joint instead of upgrading the entire drive line the adapter u-joint becomes a weakpoint in the driveline.  But since the size and strength of the 1350 and 1310 it really shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch

I didnt get an adapter u-joint . I bought a new yoke with a different sized flange on it . It is the same strength it would have been if Glenwood would have shipped the correct PTO in the first place .

Here is the replacement yoke . It uses the original ujoint , but has the larger flange of the 1350 .

I think most of us got what you were saying from the get go. The only boats here not running a 1350 or 1310 have Rockwells in them. You will have zero problems from that PTO. Now get off the computer and get that motor in the boat!!

Hell, I have one of your 1310's behind my LS motor.

I managed to get a few things done this evening after work . Motor is ready to go in , but still no fuel tanks  . Hopefully I will get a chance to get something done on the tanks tomorrow .

The directions on the MSD setup say to run the pink wire to the switch , and it is the only power wire there is on this thing . Is there really enough voltage available through the switch to run the entire ignition system ? The coils only get power through the MSD , not separate power . Seems like it should maybe be more power going to it than that . Maybe run a relay of the switch that feeds power to the MSD ?

The wiring harness on the MSD is way too long for mounting on the head , but too short to mount under the transom . I am going to have to cut it down and do some soldering . Here is a pic of all the extra wire , with everything plugged in where it should be .

Not one that will work on this system . This one controls all eight coils and the timing curve for the entire motor , It's way different than a regular MSD . Thanks though .
