That sounds like a color Cliff would like.  I think his He/She friend spells it "Blew by you" though.

I am going to try to get over to the shop for a few hours today to get the boat sanded and ready for the next coat of primer . Not much spare time for the boat this week , we are trying to get the house ready to sell , also hunting for a good agent to sell it for us .

Here are a few pics of what colors the boat is going to be , not sure how well the colors really show in the pics though .

Yeah , kinda hard to take a good pic where the color really shows . The purple is alot brighter than it looks in the pics . I think the two colors will go really well together on the boat , can't wait to get it sprayed  jump.gif

The purple is supposed to be "plum crazy" like they used on the old mopars back in the day , if that gives you a better idea .

The colors look good. Purples are always hard to photograph. I don't know what you are planning but, you might want to consider a bright red, orange, yellow or maybe silver pinstripe between the colors to make them pop a little more. Blue and purple usually needs something in between to separate them. (IMHO)  Or you could fade them together. So what brand of paint did you end up choosing?

Yeah , I am planning a few pinstripes to break it up some . I am not 100% sure of the stripe color yet . I ended up buying Dupont Hot Hues paint , the place that mixed it carried that and House of Kolors . That HOK stuff is way too expensive for my little boat .

The Dupont should be more user friendly and probably a little more duable anyway.

Quit the yappin and get it shot so we can see it on the boat!!  hurry.gif

The boat is not ready to spray yet , hopefully I will be able to spray another coat of primer this weekend , then sand it , then it will be ready to spray . I am not as quick as a real painter , so it takes time .

Brush ?  crazy.gif I am doing this one right ! :smile14: Foam Rollers  jump.gif

That's funny.. The correct way to apply real marine paint and get the very best glossy result..... You'll need BOTH!

That method doesn't work when putting car paint on a boat.

Ok , the dipstick situation . The pressed in part of the dipstick is the same diameter as the rest of the tube , but has a small o-ring groove to seal it . If I cut down the dipstick tube and only use the top six inches or so of the tube I will have the flared part that holds the dipstick itself . With not having the oring , or a bolt to secure the tube , I will need something to seal it and hold it in place . Do you guys think lock tight would be good for this ?
