Please Help... i need advise!

All i can say at this point is that shipping takes way to damn long.... i got my alternator last friday, but it was all bashed in and they are having to send me another one. Havent seen the rest of the parts yet, but im sure they are on the way :)... On a higher note, at least my jet skiis run, Went camping at UTE this weekend. found a great spot in mine canyon, and ran into a couple of guys with brand new stand ups. I cant wait to have a boat!

Man that sucks but at least you have something to keep you out on the water.

ok, so i finally have all of my parts together, the alternator got damaged in shipping and had to be replaced, however, its all here... im needing a bowl gasket for my pump, so im not motivated to put it all on just yet. but ill prolly get to it tonight.

How much ATF do you add ? I used to add ATF to my diesel all the time , but have never added it to gas in anything .

I never used a ratio for my diesels, just dumped a gallon in the 100 gallon tank in the bed every so often  :smile30:

i never ran it but i told me old buddie to run a bottle of 2 stroke oil with his tank of fuel and i am talking about the small bottle of 2 stroke.. ive only recently heard of running it with gas... I need to stop by oriellys and get some mystery oil..

I run allot of it. About a pint to 20 gallons. It don't smoke and the carb loves a little lube! :smile30:

How about just dumping a quart right down the carb of a running vehicle, seen that done before... that will make it smoke a little, lol.. :cheesy:

I've done that in an attempt to free a sticky valve.  Seemed to work.  Ran the bugs off too.  :smile30:

ok, so ive been cleaning all of my bowl / transom pieces.
1. there is a gasket down inside the bowl, little rubber one, does it look ok to be slid back over the "propshaft"?
2. there was a paper gasket that was in place betwiin the bowl and the rest of the pump, its broken at the top, on a bolt hole. It looks pretty old and warped, so is there a goo that i could use instead of this gasket?

any recomendations on silicon? im gonna need a bunch!

Hard to tell about the seal by those pictures.  Even if you could the shaft might have  groove in it.  Are there grease zerks or pipe plugs on the outside of the bowl?  New from Berkeley that pump was filled with gear oil.  When that seal fails it leaks the gear oil out.  Many times people replace one of the plugs with a grease zerk and then fill that cavity with grease.  Some even remove the large plug from the back of the bowl and use water to lubricate the rear bushing.  As for the gasket, You are not going to find one at your local parts house.  Most don't even have blank material big enough to make one.  I managed to find material big enough to make my own bowl gasket at Tractor Supply.

Oreilly Auto Parts here in town has the gasket material to make the bowl gasket , might try them . As far as a silicone type product , I don't think you would want to do that on the bowl . If you ever needed to get it back apart it would be really difficult .

sweet... i have a tractor supply 5 min from my house... there was definetly no oil or grease in this bowl.. it was full of lake water... and it just has 2 bolts at the top.  what would u recomend? is leaving water in it going to hurt it being a small block 350 power plant?

Have you ever bought it there?  Our Oreilly's only had 10" wide material. Same for AutoZone and NAPA.  I needed 12". I finally got lucky at TSC. Not doubting you just curious.  TSC did not have it on their website but they did have it in the store.
