Oh hell no I was holding one of the plugs by the boot on my old outboard and hand turning the engine over by the flywheel and with the msd on it and it must have had a crack in the boot or something cause it ran a shock right through one arm across my chest and out the other arm.  Man that stung for a long while.

You do not understand Patch is one of the strange sort of guys that liked getting shocked for pleasure and entertainment.  He was telling me a story he like to do something about jumper cables clamped on his nipples and 12v, I don't know he scared me and I ran.  crazy.gif

The whacker got whacked, but the carbs need some attention I do believe. We'll see what I can break this weekend! :smile16:

I guess those carbs are simple think.gif Looks like they are easy to remove at any rate. :smile16:

Patch, they are simple.....just don't adjust any of the linkages....and be sure to remember which carb went where.....

Easy stuff to handle. I rebuilt my Boston Whalers carbs back in '07 with no experience at all...and they run great. Be sure to use lots of cleaner in the bowls and also the jets.

Don't mess with the fuel mixture screws or idle adjust until after you make sure the carbs are spotless.

You're welcome... Since we bought the Crusader, we don't use the Whaler as much as we used to. With gas going as high in price as it is....the Whaler will probably get used more this year. Feeding a 40hp whacker mota is much cheaper than feeder a BBF 540.

In my experience, 99 times out of 100 when there's problems with an older whacker......it's because of the carbs.

Well after the power pack, we now have fire. It's just not getting the fuel. I figure it has every rite to be pissy because it sat so long! :smile27:
