Panther Jet vs. Bad Berk

Nick Allen (sleek460) has a sleekcraft with a 460 and a pantherjet in it.  The reverse in them is not adequate, but it worked good pulled nice in his boat.  That was the boat I tubed behind at BCR this year.  I got to drive it a bit too but didn't push it too hard not my boat didn't want to break anything.  Design has similarities to my ChryslerJet design and Matt had said the CJ design has similarities to an older Jacuzzi.  There are not much in the way of upgrades to the PantherJet so you are pretty much left with stock setups, but there are some, definitely more options than I have with the CJ.

Funny Sh*t the Panther vs Bad Berk deal, Panther drives when working and in good repair work pretty well , they like other axial flow jets have their limitations and in my opinion dont respond well to added horsepower beyond 300 ish, Several years back my son and I prototyped an "energizer kit" for this drive essentially converting it from an axial flow to a mixed flow jet which ends up similar in design and function to a Berkeley "E" jet, recently we began building limited quantities of a new version we call the XLerator This new conversion has enjoyed very good sucess and were currently building a new Tunnel hull project featuring this modified Panther drive  Tom

Looks almost just like a berkley seems like it would be almost just as good to do a full swap.

At some point this past summer there was an old jet boat with a big Ford that had a Panther jet sitting up on the ramp at Collin Park Marina for a few weeks. We checked it out. I'm pretty sure that pump had a little 9" bowl on it.

Ed/Drumzilla's old boat had that Panther/Berk Energizer set up on it. It was done by JBP out west by the previous owner, pretty sure he went by Camoman on the boards.
