Over transom headers restrictions Coleto Creek

So I have been wondering, after re-reading those 2 PDF files that Aubrey posted & going all over GBRA's website.. I haven't found a single thing in either one mentioning Coleto Creek Reservoir or Goliad county about this new "rule". I mean honestly, it doesn't affect me much cuz out of the 2 local places to go, Colet isn't my #1 choice & we don't go there but just very rarely. That said, I also don't want to see any bullshit regs made up all of a sudden regulating where we can & can't run our boats just cuz somebody thinks they can. Stuff like that happening one place & it gets easier for it to happen somewhere else.

I'd like to hear other's opinions on what is the next step to take to find out if & how this is gonna affect us at Colet...

Call out there & ask 'em?

Show up with some jetboats & see if they say something?

Cry about it on the interweb? lol

I ain't say'n, I'm just say'n... :smile17:

Quoted from their website:

GBRA is the owner and operator of Lake Dunlap, Lake McQueeney, Lake Placid, Lake Nolte, Lake H-4, and Lake Wood located in Comal, Guadalupe, and Gonzales Counties, Texas. GBRA has the right to establish regulations for navigation of the waterways subject to its jurisdiction, and is empowered under the laws of the State of Texas to establish restrictions on the use of watercraft navigating the waterways subject to its jurisdiction.

Nothing is said of coleto. They don't own the lake, it's privately owned (i was told once)but under their control???

all the other lakes on the website say : owned and operated by gbra. Coleto says:
The Coleto Creek Park and Reservoir, located midway between Victoria and Goliad, is a joint project between Coleto Creek Power and the GBRA.??????? more research required.

Thats what I'm gettin at... I am more of the opinion that somebody out there at Colet doesn't have the full story & is talkin out their azz...

We need to go all Brazos River Rat on 'em... print those PDFs out, take them with us & if a ranger sez something, show them the files & ask them to please point out where in the guidelines does it say it applies to Coleto Creek Reservoir...

i just sent them an email hopefully they will get back with me.

I come to coleto creek about twice a year to enjoy your reservoir, I have been hearing from a couple of my friends down in Victoria that you guys have a new rule either in effect or getting ready to come into effect concerning over transom exhaust. I currently own a  jet boat which came from the factory with over transom exhaust. I was just wondering if you could either send me the rules or clarify what I am hearing.  Thanks a lot.

I'm serious, print 'em out & have them on hand. I printed a set out for Cody already. According to what that PDF says, it doesn't apply to Coleto Creek res. & even if it did, I'm legal if I have the mufflers in anyway.

Have you ever had to bust those papers out on any rangers up there where you go?

Not had to yet , but they are in the boat for when they harass me again .. It just a  matter of time until I will have to bust them out and prove to them the boat is legal , so they can write me up for something else then .. LOL ..

Mr. Ross;

To clarify the rumors you may have heard – for the past several years GBRA has been evaluating the types of use and levels of use on all the reservoirs it operates with an eye toward safety, overcrowding conditions, and compatibility of uses and users again on each of its reservoirs.  After much review and study, and with assistance from an outside consultant, a number of proposed policy changes have been submitted with regard to specific uses on these reservoirs.  One of those proposed policy changes will deal with use of any boat with an above water exhaust system on a GBRA reservoir.  GBRA has decided that use of these types of watercraft on all of our reservoirs will be restricted and is currently in the process of having our Board of Directors approve that said change along with the other proposed policy changes.  Once the GBRA Board approves that policy change, which should occur within the next two months, then no boat with an above water exhaust will be allowed to launch on or use any of the GBRA operated reservoirs.

If you have any additional questions about this matter please don’t hesitate to email back or call.

Looks like y'all are going to have to use TT exhaust versus the OT's you're using now.....such a shame and I think it's a "witch hunt".....

Fricken just sux man, it's those damn liberal tree hugger fags ruining it for all of us!!!!

well i guess the liberator will get a set of thru transom headers, the funny thing about thru hull exhaust is it's just as loud when you get it out of the water.
