EDIT: Date Change due to weather. May 7, 2011

Alright fellers, got the details worked out for the 6th Annual NTJBC Season Opener on Lake Lavon. The date is just a few days away on Saturday May 7th at Collin Park, Lake Lavon, TX. We will be in the boat ramp parking lot for the Crawfish boil. You guys will get to see first hand on how us Northies ROLL!! Lol.

If you own a jet boat you are more than welcome to bring it out and join our club. Or if you have an old jet for sale bring it out and maybe find a buyer. Although it is a Jet Boat club, that's only in the name. Our club isn't restricted to only jets. V-drive, Outboards or any thing that would be classified as a Hot Boat is welcome to come out.

The Season Opener is on Saturday May 7 at 12:00pm. Saturday and will include a crawfish boil, which is free for NTJBC club members and $5 for non-members. If you don't like crawfish.....bring your own burgers, dogs, snacks etc as we're only going to serve up crawfish.

The city of St. Paul (the tiny town closest to the marina) is a dry town so you'll have to stop off and buy your adult beverages a few miles before arriving at the park.

T-shirts will be for sale for $15 each and is on a first come first serve basis.

Here's a few websites to help out with locating the Marina.

As always, in order to keep the law off our backs (they haven't been a problem at all on Lake Lavon in the past), be sure you have all your safety equipment on board your boat.....

Disclaimer: This is not an OFFICIAL EVENT....just a gathering of Hot Boaters wanting to show off their rides.

And it's posted to CL. I'm gonna hit all the dudes with jets for sale over the next couple of weeks, see if they'll drag a few out. I can put it on the Fox 4 Facebook page also. A "couple" of people look at that one. Not sure how many are boaters, but you never know.

Tom from Jetboatperformance.com said he's going to send us some "Swag and door prizes" for our event. I'm not sure what he is going to send us but I am certainly very grateful for his generousity.

Matt.....I don't really want to worry you too much about it but Richardson got pummeled and they were having golf ball sized hail in the area. Sasche got hit pretty bad with the rain and winds however I'm not sure if you had any hail.

All the blue bonnets outside my office were very pretty yesterday and today they're flattened out to nothing.

I think the big hail hit Garland around 635 and Skillman. The biggest we got at my house was marble sized hail. Most of it was pea sized, but got a lot of it in a hurry. Maria took some pics.

Just got home.  Everything looks normal.  It is dark out so I can't check the roof.

Should be fine. I think the heavy stuff hit just a few miles west, like closer to Chad's house...  :smile20:

Here's a link to Lake Lavons water level.

http://Lavon.USLakes.info/Level.asp

If the 10 day forecast for our area holds true, the next 6 out of 10 days have a 40% or greater chance of rain.

The rain doesn't have to fall here either. It can be upstream and flow down. I think most of the lakes upstream are close to capacity, down stream too. Don't know why Lavon and Hubbard levels are so low in comparison to the other lakes on the Trinity.
