How come ever since I put the place diverter on my boat it don't pull near as hard on the launch? It feels faster on top end but the gps says its not?

I'm guessing diverter position/angle.... When I put my pump back in, I didn't get my diverter hooked back up the way it was before & I can definitely tell a difference in the settings now. I just haven't taken the time to readjust it.
Thats the way it was when i bought the boat. My guess was to make the boat ride dryer without a place diverter? my old nozzle does have a reducer. I was looking at it the other day trying to figure it out and i did notice the seal on the place diverter dont seal to the droop very good. Im turning an aluminum B impeller 5800-5900rpm so 500-550hp? if its anything like mine a big difference!! You road in my boat. You remember how it set you back in the seat pretty good from the launch? it dont even come close now! Mine is the same way. And yeah, the nozzle size will make a big difference in the velocity of the water stream. I've always wondered what a nozzle insert would do for my boat.
Well i looked at it real good before i took it off and the O-ring was touching all the way around it just didnt fit as snug as the other nozzle. you could move it side to side a little.Devilman said:Motor Head said:Thats the way it was when i bought the boat. The different nozzle with no reducer could sure playin a part.. The part in bold raises questions as well, whatcha mean exactly that it doesn't seal to the droop very good. I want to say there is 2 different diverters that depending on how old/new it may be may require a different O-ring to seal in the droop.... I can't say for certain, but sure seems where I have read about that before...
been down that road,the older droops have a larger exit opening where the oring from the diverter seats against. did you buy the droop used?the older droops have a larger exit id,if a new oring don't fix it you may need to get a new droop.I learned all this the hard way.blazeracer said:Just wondering, does a Place nozzle need machine work to install a nozzle insert sleeve that's made for a Place diverter?

When I first the droop on mine there was spray coming out every which way and I could see a piece of teflon hanging down. I think it had since been blownout, but I can move the nozzle up and down about 1/8" freely.
