New day cruiser project

Gotcha. I'm with ya man.

I know that I have to work on my boat outside and it's gonna be hotter than F%#k soon so that's why I've been pushing my projects.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm 98% done with my boat now that the switch panel is installed. Got some re-wiring to do in the engine compartment but aside from that, this seasons projects are done.

Let me know when you need some help and I'll be there for ya.

Shifted gears a little bit today.  I got the stock YJ pump in the cruiser.  All I did is bolt the pump in.  Still need to put the transom adapter on.  Next I need to pull the one fuel tank and get the pin hole fixed then put the seats in.  At least I started on it again.

Leaking tank is removed.  Good tank is emptied of stale fuel.  Got an issue with the reverse cable routing with the stock YJ pump I need to address.  But hey, At least it's progress.

I'm on the fence this morning.  It takes a lot sealant (Pretty much an entire 10 oz tube) to seal the transom adapter to the pump on a Jacuzzi YJ.  It has not completely cured as of this morning.  It is actually still pretty soft.  Not sure I want to risk it.  That is a lot of boat to have to try and recover from the bottom of the lake if it fails.

Do you think putting it in the sun for a few hours will help it cure faster??

I would think that would help it cure faster/better, a little fresh air and sunlight/heat.  Looking forward to playing with my Rebel with the YJ.  It can't be that bad....  But then again, if I get spoiled to the Dominator on my current boat......    The Rebel should have come with BBC, Berkeley.....  Waiting to see results on this one, good luck man!

The boat performed well with the stock YJ.  I believe low speed steering was improved over the Aggressor-gized YJ.  It seemed to get on plane a little easier as well.  Now I just need to sort out the reverse issues.

Anyone know how to change the direction of the reverse cable on a hand throttle?  With the converted pump in the boat the cable pushed the bucket open for forward and pulled it closed for reverse.  With the stock YJ I need it to operate the other way.  Pull for forward, push for reverse.

Matt, on the inside of your shifter handle you can move the linkage 180 degrees out to solve your problem. I had the same problem as you do when I installed my new shifter handle.

This is on the cruiser.  It has a hand throttle.  Does it work the same way?  Surely it is similar.  Just gotta get it off and look at it.

My Glastron wouldn't be able to do that because the lock down bracket for the morse cable only mounts on one spot. If I were to flip the linkage there's nowhere to attach the morse bracket.

I think my control is very similar to yours.  Surely there is a way to do it.  The boat was originally rigged with a YJ.  I'm pretty confident the control was not replaced when the pump was modified.  I think it is the same control used for on outboard or I/O.  It seems like there would be plenty of adjustments to accommodate the vast variety of engine drive combination out there.

Matt. If the curved lever on the left side of the picture is your shifter lever, you can flip the 180 degrees.

But things are usually never that easy. Lol
