If it's smooth there is still gelcoat on top of it and you can sand that smooth and polish it. On my boat, if I had known this.... I would have used more chemical stripper then just wash and clear it. Some of the areas on the read deck and gunwhales I sanded the flake so it's silver there while the rest is blue. Hence the re-do...
