That looks pretty damn good, almost like thye were made for it. Nice seat height & everything. Whatcha gonna do with the rear area now, jump seats or leavin 'em out. A lid to cover that whole space (engine & all) would be pretty sweet.

What color material are you going to use to cover it? How are you going to make your engine lid? What parts are you going to use?

I like those seats! I have considered changing my seating arrangement, but I like the idea of the party barge. In your case, you still have room either way! :smile30:

The vinyl will be the same as the seats. The bulk of it will be the off white with a little of the brown and orange to tie it in.  I have a pattern in mind.  I am going to build it out of 3/4 MDO.

I'm undecided if I want to make it one big hatch or cut it into 3 segments.  If I do one big hatch I will probably add an electric actuator to open it.  If I do three segments I will probably wall off the engine from the sides.  That way, depending on the number of passengers,  I could have jump seats under the side covers or covers over them if I want the larger deck.  The deck part may not happen until next winter.

We'll see how all the current projects together.  We made it through last summer with no seats.  I'm sure we can make it through this summer with no engine cover.  LOL.

You could fab together a quickie engine cover with some regular Home Depot ply and a chunk of Hobby Lobby vinyl for a few bucks that would get it through the summer with the motor covered. Keep it quieter cruising anyway, while throwing an awesome roost a V-drive could never do!!

Already have 2 sheets of 3/4 MDO in the shop.  I'm only gonna do it once.

ITs coming togather really nice Matt..  I know its one thing at a time and it hasnt been good for ya in some ways but what is your thought of the gel coat leave it or try to reclear it...

Wet sand and polish.  I worked on the white in one spot.  I can get it to come back pretty good.  I will probably paint over the metal flake since it is so rough.

I figured the white would come back NICE you could always wet sand metal flake then just clear coat that part if you like it But no matter what ya do I know it will look CLEAN and good.

Hey Matt, what I've learned.. If the metal flake is rough you can't sand it or it will turn silver. If it's smooth there is still gelcoat on top of it and you can sand that smooth and polish it. On my boat, if I had known this.... I would have used more chemical stripper then just wash and clear it. Some of the areas on the read deck and gunwhales I sanded the flake so it's silver there while the rest is blue. Hence the re-do...

The part that is metal flake is already past the point where it is smooth.  You can feel the exposed flake.  I may just skip the flake and paint it with a solid color.  That is definitely a next year project though.  your the first one I'm calling when that time gets here though.  :smile30:

Not yet.  I think I am going to take a break from the boats for a couple of days.  I'll probably go back in the shop sometime this weekend and make a list of everything I need to finish the Rebel motor.  After that I'll call it quits until next weekend.

Mostly tired of spending money just to find another crap part in the mix.  As James put it another thread, I just need to push back from the table for a bit.
