The umbrella was marked down form $199 to $87. I think the stand was $30. When I get the interior done I am going to incorporate some kind of mount for the umbrella. I do not want to lug a 50# stand around on the boat all the time.

Copy that on the umbrella, I know what kind you mean. It shouldn't be too hard to put a base/mount in there at all, maybe something in a recessed area with a trap door? Kinda like a little ski locker or storage compartment. My dads old Ebbtide had one in the floor between the front seats that was just big enough to put an anchor in.
What was the status on the little beer fridge in there, haven't seen any mention of it. Figured that would be up there on the list of things to do. :grin:

Keep forgetting to check the fridge. I turned it on once and it does not run on 12V. The seal is missing around the door so even if it does work it isn't going to work well. It does have a 120V AC cord out the back. I keep meaning to plug it in and see if it makes noise that way.

I believe I have found my issue with the fuel system. It is the water separator. I pulled the fuel line back off at the tank selection valve. I pulled the other end off the fuel pump. I then blew from the valve to the pump through the separator. I could blow through it but I could tell there was some restriction. I then bypassed the separator and installed just a regular inline filter. With my calibrated lung I could tell it was much easier to blow through. Just to double check I put a short piece of fuel line on the separator and blew through it with no other devices or line hooked up. I could tell by degree of light headedness I got, it is certainly restrictive. Still need to lake test it but I am pretty confident this is the issue.
Chad, I think this may be part of the issue you had as well. That Fram fuel filter on your boat is very similar to the one on my boat. I am thinking they may have added an anti siphon to these filters that was not there in the past causing them to be more restrictive.

You will be happy to know I checked the fridge. It works!!!! :shocked: At least on 120VAC. The element was ice cold in just a minute or two. Not sure about 12VDC operation. I'll sort that out this winter.

For anyone looking to improve filtration of any kind, Fram filters may look cool and sell like hot cakes, but they are as low on the pole as you can get for a good filter.
The Wix filters at the auto parts stores are better.
Buy quality and you should not have too many problems.

Just to clarify. The one on my boat is an Attwood. The one on Chad's boat is a Fram. I can only report that the Attwood is restrictive.

The second or third time I put mine in the water I was having fuel issues. My boat has one of those clear glass Moroso in line filters and it was yellow. Changed the $4 insert and it ran great. A few weeks ago it started sputtering a little on take off, so changed the yellowing insert again for a new white one and it went away again. It's nice cause you can look at an see it's got crap in it. I find it amazing that after 20 hours of use that thing is a mess, but the one on my car has 50,000 miles and still works great. It's a different world with boats.

Planning to leave the house at noon.
I got those clear filters on each tank before the selector valve. Then I have the canister inline before the pump. It is alot easier to isolate my fuel issues even to each particular tank. I am starting to thing my fuel issue could have been a ignition issue. The new alt. was throwing 17v out at about 2500rpm. I will see ya'll out there this afternoon.

Fuel pressure issue is fixed!!!! :grin: Made a run across the lake and back non stop yesterday evening. The fuel pressure never fell below 5 lbs. The water separator was definitely the issue.
The trailer is fixed as well. I had a stuck equalizer on one side. I tried everything to get it unstuck. PB Blaster, heat, hammer, floor jack under the low side of the equalizer, pry bar, soak it with old brake fluid. I stopped by a repair shop on the way to the lake last night. Curt buzzed off the nut and pried the bracket apart. Still it was stuck. As one last attempt he put a jack under it and it moved!!! :grin: :grin: This winter I will probably replace the springs, hangers and bolts.
I am still having an issue with using the key to start the motor. It will turn over no problem if I short the solenoid but the key only works about 25% of the time. It is a new key switch and I have re-terminated all the connections. Today I am going to run a new wire. I am also going to take the alternator and starter to be rebuilt. The alternator is not putting out quite enough voltage and I figured since I am there I may as well do the starter. It's not that expensive and that way I know it is good.
