Now that you cleared the air as to what they are... Backing plates, duh (Should have read the desription). The more I think about it the more I realize they will only make the mooring points stronger. I may get a set after all. Or just just get some flat stock from Home Depot and drill them out with the same bit I drill the holes in the hull with.

Flat stock from Home Depot gets my vote.  much cheaper and you can't see it anyway.

Speaking of finhing touches... Bezels, I need blue bezels. I think the bezels thread is buried about 10 pages back.

May need Store Decor guys to drill 1" holes. I only have a hole saw that big, for wood and other soft material.

Store decor may not have a bit/hole saw that big for metal but one of my other clients, Riddle Metal Works, will.  Either way I can get it done.

The directions say to drill 1" holes with a hole saw. The lugs on the bottom of those things are HUGE!! Probably best just to get the backing plates that fit.

Ya, I'd get the backing plates for sure. When we are all tied up side by side as a party flotilla, your fiberglass hull will need something for the cleats to hold onto.

A good way to cut large holes is with either a router or a Dremel with a spiral bit. Use the backing washers as a guide. Figure out where you want your holes and tape the backing washer down real good then cut your holes out with the router or dremel. This makes a nice clean hole with no chipping what so ever.

Dude, get your Neat Cleats in yet? I'm gonna order those for my boat after I put new exhaust tips on it.

Why the heck are Neat Cleats under the High Performance Mechanic section now?? What do cleats have to do with motors??
