I'll be out at Sommerville on Sunday. Is it full enough to pull into the floating dock at Rocky, and are there any new prop busters that anyone knows of?

it should be,  i believe it's +2' above full pool  think.gif

I hope to be there Sunday, at Overlook. Lake is now 2.5' above full pool. That's 16' above what it was on the Dec. 11, 2011!

So the lake is now 4.5 feet above normal. Never thought I would ask this but are the ramps closing down as they are over full ?

according to the corps site the only ramp closed is Rocky creek #2 (the one on the point) due to high water

That still shocks me that it is closed. You would think you could still use it! think.gif

I have seen water going over the spillway only once in all the years I have been camping up there. It was in the spring, don't remember what year, probably in the 80's. About 9" was going over, I think. Alot of trees died because of it, they drowned.

That was 1992. My grandparents were living at our place by Sommerville at the time, and we nearly had lake front property. I remember going to the spillway and and it was a sight to see, every now and then you would see a school of fish go flying over the spillway. 1948 was closed just before Rocky as it was all under water. Papaw had been going to Sommerville since I believe the early 70's and had never seen it like that and it sure hasn't been that way since.
